New research presented at the Nutrition 2026 conference reviewed nearly 2,800 food products for young children across 21 grocery stores in Texas. It found that about 81 percent of the foods made for children between 6 and 36 months old are ultra-processed. The researchers also reported that nearly half of these products did not meet the nutrition standards set by the World Health Organization. They say many of these foods are high in added sugar and additives, and they encourage parents to read the labels and choose whole foods when possible.

We have picked up on a disturbing trend among many foreign-owned spaza shops: selling products from brands not officially distributed in South Africa. We found mealie meal from unknown brands, as well as uncertified diapers. Tragically, due to the high cost of living many residents are forced to buy these unvetted goods. During our search, we confiscated beauty products hidden in the ceiling, unregistered medicines, and brake fluid stored directly next to food sold for human consumption. This is inhumane. I recently visited one of our supplement supplier factories and it honestly felt like they’ve already figured out the answers to the market. For years, sellers have struggled with stability in the supplement supply chain—especially when it comes to compliance. But during my visit, I realized staying compliant isn’t that complicated. This factory already has a GMP certificate, FDA approval, and they can help provide the COA. That’s basically everything we need. They’ve also been innovating around market trends and developing creative, in-demand products: 1. Instead of traditional capsules, new formats are trending—gummies in all kinds of shapes (bears, stars, flowers), chewing gum, chewing candy, and liquid forms. 2. Majority products are still playing with shirajit in different ways. 3.Flavors matter more than ever, and the variety is growing fast. On top of that, they use tools to monitor best-selling products across platforms, launch new ones every month, and even create their own white-label lines ready for dropshipping. At 32, I stopped using products made for acne-prone skin, and guess what? My skin actually improved Now, I wash my face only when needed with a mild Japanese cleanser and use tallow as my main moisturizer. I wear natural makeup maybe two or three times a month, often even less (and I’m not wearing any here) Every now and then, I do creatine face masks. For my under-eye area I use sheep’s fat or vitamin E oil But honestly, nothing compares to deep, restorative sleep and real rest when it comes to having healthy skin

Everyone loves saying: "Why don't Indian brands make products like this?" But they don't see the real problem. A well-wisher sent me a reel of a product that would be a huge hit in India. I checked the numbers. China factory price: $20 Landed cost in India: ~₹3,000 Retail price needed: ~₹6,000 Too expensive for most Indians. The funny part? If we Indianised it, we could probably sell it for ₹3,000 and still make it work. But there is one big wall. Moulds. Just the tooling would cost around $80,000. Before selling even one unit. That's the real challenge with making products in India. Not ideas or demand. But the cost and risk of building from scratch. So for now, we focus on smaller bets. Products where we can afford to take the risk. Still, it hurts seeing great ideas and not being able to build them all. How can we solve this?
