This is textbook corruption in America - A group of multimillionaires from New York moved and bought beachfront property in a small town called Boca Grande, Florida - The beach is public and the only way to access it for the local residents is to go to the island, park and enjoy it - The millionaires from New York who bought properties there, decided they didn’t like looking at the public in their backyards using the beach “So what did they do? They paid for Lee County commissioners campaigns. And they said now that we did that, you need to go ahead and take care of the beach access because we don't want the public there anymore. — So what Lee county commissioners did is they went ahead and drafted up this parking ordinance that basically gets rid of all the parking on the island. If you don't live on the island, good luck” It passed without any say from the locals “Locals are outraged. No one is good with this. Even Boca grand business owners stood up and said, hold on a minute. No, no, no. You're going to tank our business for these millionaires that are on this island for two seconds out of the year. Our business is from the locals. Our business is from seasonal tourists. How are they supposed to come and enjoy this island if you took away the parking — You're going to kill the island. They don't care. They do not care. It is absolutely disgusting that this passed. It makes no sense. The locals who use the island had zero say. It's honestly heartbreaking”

Intoxicated woman assaults her friend and completely loses it when she finds out she is going to jail. What started as a heated dispute between former friends escalated into a chaotic scene at a beach resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, resulting in multiple charges against a highly intoxicated guest named Josie. Here is the full breakdown of the backstory: Josie had been arguing with her friend at a nearby condo before moving over to the resort’s pool area, where her erratic behavior began causing a public disturbance. Attempting to de-escalate the situation, a resort tram driver offered to give Josie a ride so she could gather her belongings and leave the property. However, during the drop-off, Josie became combative, shouting about being lost. In a sudden outburst of physical violence, she swung a large plastic drink cup and struck her friend hard upside the head. The impact broke the cup, sending the lid flying and splashing liquid onto the tram driver. Myrtle Beach Police Department officers arrived shortly after. Both the victim and the tram driver provided matching accounts of the physical assault, and the friend confirmed she wanted to press charges. When Officer Kai approached Josie on the tram to get her identification, she was visibly heavily intoxicated and uncooperative. She provided a fake first name, claimed her friend was setting her up, and refused to give her address. After being read her Miranda rights, she immediately invoked her right to an attorney. When ordered to step off the golf cart to be placed under arrest, Josie refused, forcing the officer to guide her off. She immediately became Irate: She began slapping and kicking the arresting officer, which forced him to go hands on to secure handcuffs. Once secured on the transport cart, she spat directly on the officer at least four times and continued trying to kick him. While being moved to a police cruiser, Josie repeatedly threatened the officer and his family members, shouting that a group—the "Aryan Nation"—would come to get them. Backup officers eventually had to transfer an incredibly combative Josie into a transport van as she continued screaming profanities and death threats. Following the incident, Josie was booked and charged with: Third-degree domestic violence (for the initial cup assault on her friend) Assault on an officer Resisting arrest Threatening the life of a public official

This woman becomes completely unglued when she discovers her feelings do not supersede the rights of others. This confrontation in Newport Beach, California, escalated rapidly when a bystander decided her personal comfort level should more important than the constitutional rights of everyone else in a public space. Spotting independent journalists filming near a Starbucks plaza, she immediately went on the offensive, aggressively demanding they shut down their cameras. When that didn’t work, she escalated to screeching demands for the Newport Beach Police Department to step in and execute a "citizen’s arrest" on the creators for "violating her privacy." What makes this footage a masterclass to watch is the contrast between her absolute meltdown and the flawless composure of the responding officers. Instead of taking the bait or taking the easy way out to quiet a loud disturbance, these officers stood ten-toes-down on the U.S. Constitution. They calmly but firmly educated her on the spot: The journalists were standing in a publicly accessible area. There is absolutely no legal expectation of privacy in a public space. No crime was committed, meaning no arrest—citizen's or otherwise—was going to happen. Major kudos to these officers for knowing the law, maintaining total control of the scene, and actively protecting the First Amendment rights of journalists exercising them. When emotions run high, a solid cop who respects the Bill of Rights is exactly what keeps a situation from turning completely sideways.

An excerpt from my new book 'Breaking Point': " On December 30, both of us realised just how traumatised we were when we visited Labadi Beach to hang out. We spotted a lady selling jollof rice, and we decided to get some jollof and chicken. The lady had a little daughter who couldn’t have been more than 4 years old. While waiting for our food a little distance away from them, we spotted 2 Ghanaian policemen walking up the beach toward us, dressed in black and holding AK-47s, just like their Nigerian counterparts. Ralph and I beckoned at the little girl who was playing near us, telling her to see who was coming. Instinctively, we felt a need to warn the innocent little soul that danger was coming, and she should run to her mom for protection. Instead, the little girl looked up, saw the policemen, and skipped joyfully toward them, utterly unafraid and screeching in delight with her full set of milk teeth showing, “Police! Police! Police!” The policemen on their part calmly acknowledged her, returned her smile, and even stopped to play with her for a few moments before continuing on their way. Not a single word was said at that moment, but when Ralph and I looked at each other with our mouths open in utter amazement, nothing needed to be said. It turned out that being mortally terrified of police to the point of using them to scare young children was a uniquely Nigerian experience - one that we were both completely, hopelessly, and maybe permanently marinated in. For everyone else, there was no such conditioning. Apparently, it wasn’t that the world outside was that much better than Nigeria. But it was that much less terrible. " 'Breaking Point: A Journalist’s Quest For Salvation In Nigeria's Chaos' comes out in the UK and Nigeria on January 25, 2024.

🚨 California Democrats are quietly removing 40 acres of Los Angeles beaches “The Coastal Commission this September 11 to take away 40 acres of beach and replace them with garbage sand dunes. It's item 13B — The insane city council over at the city of Santa Monica is quietly moving forward with a plan to install over 37 acres of artificial sand dunes on our public beaches directly to the right and left of the Santa Monica Pier. This is not preservation.” Spencer Pratt is on the scene and shows the area, “It's a manmade fire hazard, trash magnet, and public safety disaster waiting to happen. These dunes will be filled with dry brush surrounded by fencing, and completely unmaintained — They'll be filled with trash, mattresses, of course, the unhoused encampments” “So keep in mind, there's no erosion, no environmental impact report, and no clear plan to maintain any of it. The dunes do nothing to prevent sea level rise, and this part of the beach is manmade. And it's actually grown wider over the past fifteen years” “this is gonna directly impact local businesses, the community, and it has no purpose. No purpose just to take 40 acres of public beach straight stripping the access from families, kids, tourists alike, all for the misguided, unmaintainable attempt at environmental theater that creates far more problems than it claims to solve. So the beaches today in Santa Monica are already overwhelmed every morning. Hundreds of unhoused individuals sleeping across the sand surrounded by piles of trash.”

This rich woman dared the police to arrest her and they accomidated that request. Most DUI stops involve a series of roadside tests and a breathalyzer. But Linda J. Seltzer took a different, much faster route to the back of a patrol car. Seltzer pulled her Porsche Panamera into a fire station in Palm Beach Gardens, claiming she was lost. When officers arrived to investigate a potential DUI, Seltzer didn't wait for a sobriety test. Instead, she decided to lean into her "status," repeatedly reminding officers of her wealth, her expensive beach condo, and her "many lawyers." Tired of the questioning, Seltzer famously held out her wrists and dared the officers to arrest her. But she didn't just ask for it—she forced it. As she slammed her car door directly into an officer, resulting in an immediate "accommodation" of her request to go to jail. Because of that physical escalation, the standard field sobriety tests never actually happened. She was taken into custody right then and there for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and DUI. Despite the dramatic footage and the physical contact with the officer, Seltzer maintained her NOT GUILTY plea. In a move that shocked many who watched the bodycam, the State Attorney eventually DROPPED the charges. Her legal team successfully argued that the bodycam footage didn't support the officer's written narrative of the event. It’s a textbook example of how a high-profile "entitlement" video can look one way to the public, but play out entirely differently in a court of law when the paperwork and the video don't align perfectly. Looks like she really did have a bunch of lawyers and they clearly are very good at what they do. How does this make you feel about our legal system?
