Cook pushed back at first. "He called me over to his house. He told me he wanted me to be the CEO. And I debated with him a little bit. Are you sure you don't want to be CEO anymore?" But Jobs had made up his mind. And he gave Cook one piece of advice that would shape how he led Apple: "His advice to me was never ask what I would do. Just do the right thing."
