VIDEO: Residents rescue man gagged by wife, sons over pension dispute Residents of Oko-Filling, a serene neighborhood in Araromi, Ijoko, Sango Ota, came to the rescue of a man who had been bound, gagged and left for death by his wife and children following a dispute over his retirement benefits. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, March 13, at the family’s residence. The conflict began when the man reportedly refused to hand over the entirety of his retirement payout to his wife and four sons. After receiving the money, he used a portion to open two shops for his wife in Abule after giving her N3 million. He also bought a N12 million car for himself while the family already owned a home in the area. However, his wife and sons, who are all university graduates, expressed dissatisfaction with the distribution of the funds and attempted to pressure him for more. The situation took a darker turn when the man sold the newly purchased vehicle shortly after acquiring it, raising suspicions among neighbors. A local landlord, who spoke to The Nation, revealed that the man was later discovered in his home with his mouth, hands, and feet bound. "He was tied like an animal to be slaughtered. They (his wife and kids) got some Aboki men, about six of them to tie him up. It was the strange noise from their parking that alerted residents who gathered in front of the house to know what was happening. "Landlords in the area who could not endure the noise at that hour, decided to go out and find out what was wrong. When they got to his compound, they saw a Korope (small bus) outside packing properties. "His wife and sons were the ones packing and so, the residents asked after the man. North Carolina woman Isabel Coles says her husband Christopher, took his life just four days after they got married. "In the morning, he was folding laundry, and things were a little weird. I asked him what was wrong, and he said ‘Nothing.’ Then he went downstairs and tried to get out," she said, according to the New York Post. "I stood at the front door and asked what was going on. He got out and started heading towards the woods." Coles says she ran to get her shoes, but by the time she chased after him, he was gone. His body was found in the woods the next day. "He was very hard on himself, always pushing himself. There were no signs, it did take me really off guard." Coles says three months after Christopher passed, she was delivered a bouquet of flowers on Valentine’s Day. "In February, I got a flower delivery from him, and I freaked out. I contacted the florist, and they said he ordered the flowers in September." Coles says she will be running in the Chicago Marathon in October to raise awareness for mental health through the American Foundation for Su*cide Prevention.

A 17 yr-old teen, Jonathan Lewis Jr, was beaten to death by a mob of black teens near Rancho High School in Vegas. The teen was attempting to help his ‘younger friend after being bullied’ when he was then attacked by the whole gang. Jonathan was found bleeding from his head, and taken to UMC where he was put on life-support. He died this past week. Lewis Jr’s dad said he was a great, caring young man, and was planning to join the military at 18. No one has been arrested. Didn’t hear about this story in the media, huh?
