Hundreds of protesters responded to an immigration raid targeting Deyvi Daniel Corona-Sanchez in South Burlington, VT on Wednesday and were punched, shoved, maced and run over by police and federal agents. Multiple confrontations occurred throughout the day between protestors and officers. When agents initially tried to arrest Corona-Sanchez, a standoff ensued. A federal agent then returned in the late afternoon claiming they had a warrant signed by a judge for his arrest. The agents broke down the front door of a home shortly before 6 p.m. and forcibly removed three people from inside, none of whom were Corona-Sanchez who was later determined to be not in the house. Protesters linked arms to prevent federal vehicles with those arrested inside from leaving. Several were brutalized and 11 protestors were arrested as federal agents deployed flash bangs and chemical weapons before leaving the scene.

CHICAGO - Two people are facing charges in connection with the use of cars to ram and block federal agents on Chicago’s Southwest Side on Saturday, which led to a shooting. Prosecutors said federal agents had conducted an operation on Saturday and Border Patrol agents acting as security detail were followed by a "convoy" of cars. The First Amendment protects the right to record law enforcement, and federal agents, carrying out their duties in public. And federal regulations specifically recognize that people can record publicly accessible federal activity from public sidewalks, and streets, when they aren’t impeding or disrupting operations. Then, the agent says: “Stop following us, you aren’t going to like the outcome.” That is a serious First Amendment retaliation issue. And then it gets even more dangerous. The same armed federal agents, who just threatened these people with weapons and retaliation… surround the citizens’ car and claim THEY are blocking traffic. But look at the video. The only people blocking traffic are the ICE agents… who have now boxed in the citizens’ car. Agents cannot detain someone because they don’t like being watched. A vehicle stop requires reasonable suspicion of an actual legal violation. And recording and observing ICE agents, from a public place, is not obstruction. It is not illegal. Government agents are supposed to be accountable to the people… not the other way around. The First Amendment protects your right to watch and record your government. The Fourth Amendment limits the government’s power to stop and detain you. And neither one comes with an ICE exception.

Carlos Jimenez, 24, of Ontario, is charged with assault on a federal officer and faces a federal prison sentence after interfering with lawful immigration enforcement yesterday. According to a federal complaint filed today, Jimenez pulled up in a Lexus while federal agents conducted a lawful traffic stop on Thursday morning in Ontario and began arguing with the agents. When told to leave, Jimenez drove forward, then reversed at speed toward agents, one of whom opened fire, wounding Jimenez. He is expected to make his initial appearance this afternoon in U.S. District Court in Riverside. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Because law enforcement’s identities are not supposed to be private information, especially when they have been involved in the death, or shooting, of a civilian… But, instead of upholding the constitution, the current administration is attempting to stretch “threatening” language to cover political speech they don’t like. And let’s talk about election integrity… Polling places are legally restricted civic spaces. It is illegal to deploy federal troops, or armed federal law enforcement, to any polling place. Using that space to confront someone, over speech about federal agents, is highly inappropriate at minimum… and potentially unlawful. And this isn’t the first instance federal agents have hunted U.S. citizens down to silence calls for government accountability. Which should alarm everyone… Because a government that punishes scrutiny instead of answering it, is not a government holding its agents accountable… It’s a system telling you its agents are above it.

LOL! Federal Agents were warning people to CLEAR THE STREET! When they didn’t, the officers unloaded on them with non lethals. A protester who taunted the agents and stayed in the street learned a HARD LESSON! One of the officers simply zeroed in on his face and LEFT A MARK!
