Federal and state collaboration is delivering infrastructure with lasting impact. During the Renewed Hope National Media Tour in Imo State, Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Mr. Declan Emelumba, described the projects inspected as the result of a strong partnership between the Federal Government and the Imo State... Government. He noted that the expansion of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport will strengthen logistics, increase agricultural exports, attract investment, and position the South-East as a key economic hub, while also highlighting that many of the projects were enabled by the expanded fiscal space created through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms. The Renewed Hope National Media Tour in Imo State continued with an inspection of the ongoing reconstruction of the Orlu–Mgbee–Akokwa–Uga Road in Imo West Senatorial District, a federal road being delivered by the Imo State Government through collaboration with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. For years, communities along this corridor were isolated by severe ecological challenges that disrupted movement, threatened livelihoods, and constrained economic activity. The 22-kilometre highway is restoring connectivity between Orlu and Akokwa, extending to the Anambra State border and strengthening regional trade, mobility, and economic integration. A key feature of the project is the new Mgbee–Akokwa Bridge across the Orashi River, designed to address gully erosion, reconnect communities, and provide a durable transport link that will support commerce and improve access for residents. Strategic infrastructure is laying the foundation for economic growth in Kogi State. During the Renewed Hope National Media Tour, the delegation inspected the ongoing flyover bridge at Kabba Junction on the Lokoja–Benin Expressway. Beyond easing congestion, the project will improve the movement of people and goods, reduce travel delays, and support trade and economic activities along one of Nigeria’s key interstate highways. The Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Barrister Salami Ozigi Dedaat, explained that the Abuja-Lokoja highway had been in a very deplorable condition due to being abandoned by past administrations but has now been earmarked for completion by President Bola Tinubu.
