Today in Brussels, I met with Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo. I thanked him for the recently announced 30th defense package worth €52 million and for Finland’s accession to the PURL initiative with a contribution of €100 million. This is real support for our defense. We also discussed cooperation within the SAFE instrument for the procurement of long-range missiles, drones, and artillery ammunition. Special attention was given to the Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure. I informed the Prime Minister about the strikes, and we discussed the restoration of relevant facilities and contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. We also touched upon the issue of shelters and Finland’s leadership in the corresponding coalition. I appreciate all of Finland’s support. Thank you for the meeting. 🇺🇦 🇫🇮

That is why, together with our partners, we are doing everything possible to bolster air defense and enhance protection. Together with Norway, we are building a strategic partnership in the field of security and defense. We are interested in a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership that will strengthen the defense potential of both Ukraine and Norway, in particular through the development and implementation of the Drone Deal. I thank Norway, its government, and all its people for supporting Ukraine. I am grateful for the allocation of €9 billion in assistance for this year. This is important for Ukraine.

In Brussels, ahead of the UDCG meeting, I met with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas and thanked her for consistent support. I shared Ukraine’s key defence priorities for this year and stressed the importance of close cooperation with partners to achieve them. The Ministry of Defence is currently undergoing a transformation to operate faster and more efficiently — to stop Russia on land, at sea, on the battlefield, and to strike back against its economy and in the cognitive domain.
