I discovered them on Instagram, where students give you a peek at their daily lives and what they’re working on. This is a middle schooler. Some of the high schoolers are doing really interesting research or work study projects that go super deep into niche interests.

The obvious Q is does it work to disrupt the teaching model so dramatically? In applications to state charter school boards, the company claims that its students consistently score 90th+ percentile on national standardized tests. And they're quickly opening new locations...

I went down this rabbit hole a year or two ago. Something I love to see is the high schoolers who all have their own businesses! Every single one of them was making money, it was crazy honestly

My son has been there since 5th grade and currently in 8th grade. He will not be attending the HS there but it has been an incredible experience overall. They definitely are in "startup mode" and have some challenges but the overall premise of 2x learning + life skills is 🔥🔥

What would be interesting is to see if it’s working because kids are all bright outliers to begin with or not. There could be a self selection bias here.

I would have loved to have had this available when I was that age. Should probably still do the same in my life now.

Yeah, one thing we’ve seen at @MentavaInc is that educational software without speed limits lets kids learn incredibly fast People think it’s some kind of miracle but it’s just removing all speed bumps to let kids learn as fast as they want
