A fast FEMA response and money available to prevent access to/from town. No timeline for road repairs and no money to help people. FEMA mission appears to be something other than helping disaster victims. Why are they really there?

My friends at Fort Bragg (Liberty) are telling me that they've sent supplies and aid to relatives in the area, and FEMA has either blocked it, or confiscated it because it is "not supplied by approved vendors". People at the base are really, really getting pissed about FEMA.

FEMA claims it's out of money, but has almost 300,000 dollars to spend in order to prevent aid from getting to affected people.

When I first left my land in Maine to come down to Western North Carolina right after the hurricane, I never had any clue I would stay for 3 months and eventually move down here to continue helping. God called me to be here and I am grateful to have answered His call. He has blessed so many through my hands. I the journey has been amazing, even after being deplatformed multiple times and having all financial resources cut off the Lord has still made a way for us to continue rendering aid to these communities. I am an Ethiopian national, born in the Oromia region, West Arsi zone, Gadab Hasasa district, in a place called Woqeenxara. When I was 10 years old, both my mother and father passed away. Because of this, the community in my area gathered a small amount of money and bought me a motorcycle. I started working with it by myself. Since I worked between the town and the rural areas, government forces threatened me, saying I was transporting goods to the Shanee armed group in the forests. Out of fear, I fled the country when I was 15 years old and went to Sudan. I stayed in Sudan for about one year. There, I met a friend, and through him, we contacted a smuggler and came to Libya. After we entered Libya, we were placed in a warehouse. Once inside, they demanded money beyond my capacity. Because I had neither my father nor my mother, and my siblings were themselves struggling, I had no way to pay the ransom. Because of this, they subjected me to severe torture. After enduring this for a while, I fell sick and spent about one month inside. Eventually, they released me, and while traveling with my friends towards Tripoli, I was arrested by the police and taken to a detention center called Tajoura. I stayed in the detention center for two months, where I suffered greatly. After that, they released me. One Ethiopian man saw me where I was abandoned and took me to the UNHCR office. But when he brought me there, UNHCR refused to accept me. The young man also abandoned me right outside the UNHCR gate and left me there. I slept in front of the UNHCR gate for four days. After that, another young Ethiopian came to me and asked what had happened. He recorded a video of me and posted it on social media. Afterwards, some young people who knew me by face saw the video and came and took me with them. Even now, I am still in a very difficult situation. I am very sick. On the 13th of Sept, someone transferred 180k for an iPhone Xs 256GB. After acknowledging his receipt, he called, and I told him we don't have it but will ask colleagues and let him know. I asked my friend, and he told me 190k. I begged him to leave it at 180k because that is what the guy deposited (check frame 2 for reference). When he sent the phone from Kano to Jos, then I noticed it was an Xs Max. Seeing that the guy was in a hurry and didn't want to disappoint, I called him and told him what happened and said if he wants the Max, he can take it at no additional cost. I was willing to settle the difference because it was his first time buying from us. I packaged it with a new premium charger because all our used phones are sent packaged in our branded box with a charger, and I sent it to him in Abuja. He later messaged that he has received the phone and truly appreciates it. After months of not receiving any complaints from him, it clearly indicates that he has received a fully functioning phone. It is in our policy that if you find anything faulty within one week, you can return it to us and either ask for a replacement or refund. What this means is that the cost of bringing it from Kano to Jos, the packaging and charger, and the delivery to Abuja are all a loss to me. But I didn't mind because at least I have satisfied him. Nine weeks later, while I was in Kano, I saw a call from an unknown number. When I picked up, he said it was him. He told me that the camera has started giving him problems. I told him it has been months since you bought it, but you can take it to any repair store and tell me how much you spent, and I will pay. He asked if I know anyone, and I sent him someone's number. The guy didn't pick; he texted and informed me and later called me. I told him to go to anyone he trusts and let me know the amount he spent. A few days later, I was stranded between Kaduna and Abuja on my trip from Kano to Abuja because my car engine failed. He called, and I didn't pick; I don't even know his number. Later in the night, I received his messages on WhatsApp with a threat that he will make a video to tarnish the image of my business. Someone I was willing to help after months of buying a USED device from me is threatening me. I said he should go ahead because I can't entertain him anymore. In conclusion, a trade that I incurred a loss from is what some people are trying to justify as a scam. The beautiful part is I have made trades with hundreds of people here, and I would love two more people to come out and present a case in which they are still using a device I sold to them that is faulty and they contacted me for a replacement or refund, and I didn't do it instantly. If I paid $51000 for a car and the dealer already cashed the check and had it in the bank for 11 days, I better already have my car. Unlike this dealership who kept pushing back the delivery date and eventually refused to give this gentleman his car he already paid for. To me it sounds like they sold it before he picked it up. I remember during the hurricane Katrina days and I left the insurance office to clear my wind. I just got off a difficult call and I felt so sorry for the insured. I left to go to Panera to get a bread bowl with some broccoli cheddar soup and a nice Sierra Turkey sandwich which was my favorite order. On the way there I spotted a beautiful pearl white new 2005 Cadillac Escalade at the Cadillac dealer. I wasn’t in the market for a new car but I decided to stop and take a look. One thing led to another and I ended up putting a deposit on the car and made an appointment to go back so I can discuss price and purchase. The sales man said I had to put the deposit down on it so they would hold it for me, I didn’t have the time to do it at the moment because I still had to go back to work. I went back on my off day a few days later only to not see it parked out front. I thought to myself maybe they are having it cleaned in anticipation of me buying it today so I didn’t think much of it. The salesman kept saying he will come get me when he was ready, he claimed it was a busy day for him. I kept waiting and waiting only to go back to his office and he wasn’t even there. I asked another employee if they could page him for me, I was getting impatient. That’s when I found out he left. I asked to speak to the sales manager and inquire about the car I put a deposit on and asked if it was being cleaned. He looked it up and told me they sold it two days ago. I said I was there two days ago and was told to put a deposit down on it so they would hold it for me. He said they don’t ever do that unless it’s a special order. He asked to see a receipt and I showed him my receipt given to me by the salesman. He looked confused because he said their receipt are never handwritten, they are always printed with my info, the dealer info, the car vin number and other info. This was just a generic looking paper receipt with my name on it and the amount. But it did have his name on it. They did refund me and asked to show me another car, I told him I was fine and I left. But I did drive an hour out of my way to a different dealer in Cleveland and ended up buying the same spec car from them. I then drove it back to the shady dealer and made them wash it for me since Cadillac offers free car washes for all Cadillacs regardless where I bought it.

Today, as I entered Telangana, I saw that at the same border which was closed by the government a long time ago, illegal extortion of ₹20 to ₹200 was being done from truck drivers in the name of excise. As soon as I stopped, I was asked for ₹200, and my camera recorded it all. The most astonishing thing was that the guard demanding the money had no proper uniform, no nameplate, no cap. He was standing in slippers and a shirt with broken buttons, accompanied by a private officer. When I protested, their in-charge arrived. He was also wearing slippers and without the proper uniform. This young man was handwashing his car since there was no line here. He does it all the time. The cars we see are for the automatic car wash. Anyways he already paid once and got water in the bucket so he could hand wash, after he did that he was preparing to put more money in so he could rinse. An employee comes up and takes the money out of his hand and pushes him and tells him to leave. Claiming Hess making others wait yet we see nobody there waiting. Would you have left too? The cops came and heard him out but since the employee wanted him to never come back, he was asked to respect that. I used to do this all the time especially when traveling. Sometimes I like doing it in the winter because of all the salt and such, I don’t want it damaging my paint. One time I decided to do this at about 2 in the morning on the way to the gym. Obviously there was nobody there and there is usually an officer parked in the parking lot because there used to be reports of people parking back there in the dark sleeping and doing other stuff. I was in the middle of my hand wash when a homeless man literally climbed from behind the dumpster nearby and asked why I was being noisy. I told him I was only washing my car and I was allowed to as it was a 24 hr spot and h paid after all. He started being unreasonable and I flagged the officer behind me, it took him about 30 seconds to notice and he pulled up and I explained what was going on. He said he figured that’s what I was doing since he often saw me doing it before. He did tell the homeless man to leave, and he did without incident. I was able to finish rinsing and drying my car and I left. I don’t live in a bad area, so I don’t feel unsafe doing this, have you ever had an issue washing the car at night? Night time is so much better, quieter and less busy.

We received the call from the office colleague around 7.30 or 7.45 AM, informing us that Sarthak had met with an accident. By the time we reached the Spinal Injuries Hospital, he was gone. They left my son lying on the road. The least they could have done was take him to the hospital. We learned there were two people in the vehicle... I appeal to all of you, please. I want justice... He was wearing a helmet. Look how sturdy it is, look at the scratches on it. I cannot bring myself to show you the condition of his clothes; it is too painful for me to bear. His mother is inside, shattered and lifeless with grief... I want to appeal to the Commissioner, Rekha Gupta, Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Modi. Sir, please help us. Where can common people like us go? There is no one to listen to us. Nobody understands, sir. We have nowhere else to turn. We are taxpayers. Commissioner, sir, your police personnel sent us to Safdarjung Hospital for a blood test after a delay of 50 hours. After 50 hours, Commissioner, sir, what traces of alcohol could be found in that blood? Please, I want justice for my son, my only son. It is his birthday today. He would have turned 34 today... I request you, with folded hands... Arrest my son's killers. Have them hanged. They should be put behind bars. They are killers. This was not merely a collision or an accident. I was on my mission when President Holland gave his “Safety for the Soul” talk about the Book of Mormon. I remember feeling the fire, but that’s not the talk that had the most impact on my life. While I was a missionary, I discovered a talk he gave called “Within the Clasp of Your Arms.” He wasn’t an apostle at the time. I loved it, but it took many years for me to finally understand it. Most of my childhood was spent growing up with an absent father—visiting him in prison, seeing him get arrested, watching him live as a homeless alcoholic and drug addict, hearing him fight with my mom, or once even threatening to kick us out in the middle of the night. I have some good memories of him, but not many. Then I became a dad. At the time, I was serving as stake clerk and preparing for a stake priesthood meeting. Something reminded me of this talk (I assume it was the Spirit), and I decided to listen to it again. The talk finally hit me like a ton of bricks. The Spirit gave me, I think, the strongest and most loving rebukes I’ve ever received in my life. I was crying on my way to the meeting. I was crying during the meeting. I was crying while listening to my stake president speak—which, ironically, was about being good, loving fathers. I was crying after the meeting. Afterward, we (the stake presidency) met quickly to discuss the meeting, and my stake president, who had noticed all my crying, asked me to give the opening prayer. I never got to meet him, but this experience made me feel closer to him. I’m not a perfect father, and I wasn’t a bad father then. I just had some things I seriously needed to work on. I’ve tried my hardest to live by what I learned that day. I repent when I fail to meet that expectation. I love President Holland. I’m going to miss him.

I tried to tell Dalton aka ChudtheBuilder and I tried to warn everyone. I call him out for exactly what he does that led to him shooting a man today in our interaction last week. Baiting people into reactions while he’s carrying a gun. You can see me actually looking down a few times at the imprint of the gun to ensure he never reaches for it. This was never about freedom of speech. You can’t play victim when you go after people with hateful, racist rhetoric and then threaten to mace or shoot people. The sad part about this is I spoke with a lieutenant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office this morning as he called me back. I asked about his arrest in Nashville violating the terms of his bond agreement for his current court case in Clarksville/Mont. county. He said they don’t issue the warrants. I then explain that he does these things while being armed and the lieutenant kind of shrugged it off like it wasn’t a big deal and that Dalton was a frequent through their department. That conversation ended with me thinking “they don’t understand the liability and danger this guy is to the public”. A few hours later, after I made this post ( warning Dalton about the consequences of his actions, he ends up shooting someone. I tried. This is the EXACT thing I was trying to avoid and why I made so many calls around Montgomery County and Nashville/Davidson County this past weekend.
