Let him watch you in your beast mode cutting deals; listen in on business conversations. Pull him out of school and sign him to international comps in Ivy League schools so he can start networking with other “cool kids” from all over the world. Introduce him to “flying solo”. They have “UNaccompanied minors” services for kids 14 and under on all airlines. My son just did Nairobi-Amsterdam-Atlanta-Austin solo. He’ll meet me in Qatar later in the month because he wants to visit Mecca. Anza mapema.. Mimi ni mzee sasa

The president needs to make a deal with the current members of parliament and re-introduce Section 2A and 2B back into the Constitution through a complete overhaul so we eliminate these senseless electioneering excises, repeated election cycles and politicking that stagnates our country and that has turned every Kenyan into a political pundit. BAN politicking and force people to be productive elsewhere with their time, energy and ideas. Redraw county boundaries back to 7 provinces and an autonomous Nairobi, cut members of parliament to 47 and Senators to 16, 7 governors and then multiply the number of Ward Councilors (MCAs) by a factor of one hundred and give them the power and the resources to serve their constituents and solve their unique challenges mashinani. No more budgets for MPs- their job is to legislate and not to distribute pork barrels. The power to impeach a president THAT IS ALREADY IN THE CURRENT BROKEN CONSTITUTION, which has a 24-month provision stays in the new constitution. Ward councilors to hold the checks and balance powers over their province and the power to initiate a recall process on their respective governor/PC. Western themed democracy is not meant for Africa, Asia or Middle East. The countries that have rejected those foreign concepts are the ones that are leading in accelerated economic growth and social and security stability -no senseless national election cycles. Benevolent dictatorships is the ingredient.

That makes me an Egoistic God You wouldn’t know. The boy I chanced on after the lockdown and helped him secure his Form One spot at Kagumo Boys High School scored a B+ in last year’s KCSE. We’ve never met and we probably never will. I’m the Egoistic God just like your mysterious African Christian God. I periodically pick up strangers (mostly on my drive from the village to Gîcuka and drive them where they were going past the matatu stop. Several times The evening I went to Kingoris for the second time, I had come from the village with my daughter. At that processing facility called Equatorial something between maragua and Kaharati by the railway crossing, we picked up a mother and her little boy… probably 7 years old. They needed to go to Thika by Blue Post and then catch another matatu to Gatanga I drove them to their village way deep in some beautiful rolling hills and big blue skies of Kandara The boy has a rabbit project going on just like I did when I was his age. I gave him some cash to expand his business and told him to take care of mama when he’s a big boy driving a big car. I gave him a dream in exchange of my own childhood memories of raising rabbits. That’s how I knew what to answer Kingori when he asked me how long I’ve been shikanisharing money. I did not ask the boy what his name was, he doesn’t now mine, we will probably never meet again in this current life but we are forever connected through his dreams and my memories. Egoistic God
