Few final CFP thoughts on CFB Live: 1. When multiple teams deserve a spot, why is Week 2 valued more than an entire body of work? FSU should have been in over TEXAS, not Alabama. 2. The ONE criteria from the committee that a team CANNOT control is injuries.... You control wins, head to head, who you schedule, winning your conference. FSU controlled EVERYTHING they could. Bama didn’t. UGA didn’t. Texas didn’t. Yet the committee chose to value an uncontrollable factor more than a team that delivered on everything that was presented before them? 3. Kelsey you are spot on correct. I can tell you from everything I have seen as an investigator something stinks . I strongly believe some of your SEC colleagues colluded to keep FSU out and put in Alabama. Texas suspicious too.

Georgia should be in over Texas as well. Both have 1 loss and your telling me a loss to Alabama in the Sec championship is worse then a loss to a down OU team that lost to KU and Okie st? The committee is an absolute joke.

In light of FSU's QB injury, then why are they still ahead of UGA? UGA lost to Bama by 3 - miniscule difference in those 2 teams. But FSU is clearly worse than Bama? But still better than UGA? The committee are hypocrites. This like watching Masked Singer, only more injuries.

How can they argue that the Texas win in week 2 over Alabama was the best win of the season while simultaneously arguing Alabama wasn’t as good then, but greatly improved. Doesn’t that devalue the Texas win, thus weakening their case? Fact is, SEC 💰 won here.

2 things can be true: Florida State could have gotten hosed out of the College Football Playoff & The committee could have landed on the right four teams. FSU Football did everything they were supposed to do. Non- conference wins, undefeated season, & conference champions. Whether you believe they will lose without their starting QB is up to you. Still, they IMO they earned the right to do so as part of the final four. With that, if you want answers then follow the money. I think whenever their championship can go away to a different team, a different driver, you need to respect that and be a bit more careful. Nick Saban has always asked this question about Leadership... "How many guys on the team need to be led?" Coach Saban believed in the power of Collective Leadership with his teams. 1. Are most players on your team bought in? 2. Do most players on your team set a good example? These players do not need someone to impact or influence them if they are already making these choices and leading by example. This is the power of collective leadership. Collective leadership is vital to successful teams. I believe there are 7 types of Collective Leaders that all teams need: 1. The GAMER - When the game is on the line. Who does the team look to? Who wants the ball in their hand? It is the Game Leader. They don't "have" to lead in other ways, but it would be best if they did. This player is often the ultimate competitor on the team. 2. The WORKER - Winning Teams have Practice Leaders. They bring energy and focus to each practice. They ensure competitive and strong practices. They Lead by Example. You practice much more than you play. 3. The GATEKEEPER - This leader ensures the Team Culture is Maintained. They put out the fires. They keep the team accountable. Especially when the coach is not there. They are essential in WINNING Teams. 4. The COMMUNICATOR - It is a long season. There will be difficult days. Teams need the Communicator to get through these tough days. They often provide humor and can lighten the mood. They have high Emotional Intelligence. This is an Underappreciated Leader. 5. The CONNECTOR - These players are often your “glue” players. They keep the team connected on the court or field as well as in the locker room and in social settings. 6. The ENERGY GIVER - The Energy Giver brings Positive Energy Every Day! Their Energy is Contagious! This leader knows that nothing great can be accomplished without Enthusiasm. The Energy Leader brings positive energy each day. They feed the team! 7. The SERVER - Finally, the Server embodies Servant Leadership. They are all about the TEAM. They bring a WE-first mentality to all they do. Their focus on the TEAM creates a contagious WE>ME mentality throughout the team. So much mental game gold here from Scottie Scheffler after winning The Masters. My takeaways: 1. Preparation builds confidence. Want to go into anything feeling more confident? Know deep down that you prepared as best as you possibly could. Having a personal ‘Checklist for Success’ of the things you do that are 100% in your control that leads to the best you showing up is huge here. 2. Process over Outcome mentality. When we are ruthlessly focused on our process (the action steps that are in control), the outcomes we want (not totally in our control) come our way as a by-product, especially in the long run. 3. Feeling nervousness, anxiety, fear, etc., is normal when competing. All athletes experience those emotions, especially in big moments. The best of the best have learned how to use those emotions to enhance their performance, rather than be held by back them. When you combine all of that, you allow yourself to find out how good you can be and you more and more consistently show up at your best, when it matters most. Scottie being the best in the world is not on accident. It’s clear that he’s very intentional and on purpose with how he approaches the mental side of the game.
