I have this idea to add a body positivity pep talk to my podcast on Fridays I’ve struggled with my own body image, comments people have made irl and online, and in my own mind. Slowly, I’m learning that my body is my instrument to create the symphony of my life, to pursue what I’m passionate about, and to make meaning with. This is my one vessel to pursue my life’s purpose with and that is not something I should take lightly or berate. I also shouldn’t tolerate it from others. That means treating my body like a sacred place that deserve reverence for the ways in which it allows me to externalize my heart- because few things matter more than that.

Why Hyderabad Drowns After A 20min Rain? I may not have a simple answer to this complex question but was in Raidurgam area yesterday and this what I saw. This is right next to the Raidurgam metro. It is like the IT hub of Hyderabad and look at the state of things here. Roads are being dug to lay drainage pipes. Locals told me it has been close to a year since they started digging. The debris is just lying on the road, existing drainage seems to be damaged and all the sewer is flowing on to the main road. To make things worse, many are parking right on the road making the congested area much more difficult to commute. There is no parking space at Raidurgam Metro. If someone wants to take the metro, they have to arrive on a separate vehicle to reach. Plus there are a million autos lined up on the road. Traffic police who hide behind trees or corner you in some random street won’t regulate traffic on the main roads. They won’t show a solution to park vehicles but will collect challans. Why are you collecting challans without any space being earmarked for parking? Do you expect people to jump off a parachute and get into a metro? We look at China, Japan with their advanced technology of laying roads in a day and will be wowed. Here governments talk about AI city, Future City and such money minting projects for the government and still get wowed. Why isn’t AI or advanced technology being used to repair roads, drainages or maintain infrastructure in the existing city??? Hills I will die on as an elementary school teacher, who just wrapped up my 32nd year teaching! 1. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to teach, this profession is not for you. 2. Our students are not “ours”. They are their families, and we need to understand the magnitude of the calling, and responsibility we have to meet them where they are, and to help them to get to a place that they never thought possible. 3. As important as the curriculum is (and it IS important), the children in our classroom are what matter most. It’s our JOB to teach the curriculum to SERVE our students, NOT to use our students to push any sort of agenda. 4. Just as we teach our students to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our students better than they were when they first entered into our classroom. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every child. 5. We should not teach our children WHAT to think, but HOW to think, and how to use that knowledge to bless and serve not only themselves, but the world around them. 6. Our words carry little (or NO value), if we do not practice what we preach. 7. If we don’t make learning fun, children will view learning as a chore, and we we will be creating a generation of children who grow up to be young adults who don’t see the joy in learning new things. 8. The child that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Never tell a child they “can’t” do something. God has blessed each of them with far more strengths and talents than we may know, and it’s not our job to tell them what they can’t do, but to help them to realize all the things they CAN do. 10. This is not taught to Arab or Palestinian children in schools because it’s humiliating to their people. But why isn’t this important piece of history taught in schools everywhere else around the world? Too many schools in Canada, for instance, allow this propaganda to be a part of their classroom studies. And from a marketing perspective, this propaganda is well-positioned to be accepted by people who don’t know any better because they never received this education in any history class. The word “Nakba” is also cleverly wielded. A non-English word, it acts as a mysterious, yet symbolic placeholder for whatever trauma your mind can conjure. The ambiguity gives it power. The unfamiliarity of its language and culture gives it a sense of empathetic authenticity. You want it to be real, so you can demonstrate your empathy for its cause. Suicidal empathy. This was one of the saddest things to see. People following the Dom so hard they literally pulled over next trees, unable to see anything. The janky bird fart tornado ongoing at the time was barely visible in the open, let alone through trees. I know the recovery vehicle has a purpose to follow, but everyone else? Pathetic. At one point prior to this the funnel passed nearly overhead as I sat on the side of the road watching, then the circus pulled up and things got clustered...had that thing actually planted into something real....yikes. Shortly after that and seeing how bad it was becoming, I had to change my strategy to simply put miles between myself and it all...the chase became more enjoyable minus the terrain/roads we were plagued with all day. There's a point where trying to be closest to get your little extreme storm chaser points isn't worth the loss of sanity. I'll gladly take a step back to breathe. I've got nothing to proove by trying to be mr zero meter all the time. I enjoy it, but only in certain circumstances.
