BRIGADIER GENERAL AS ALIYU MAKES HISTORY WITH DARING PARACHUTE JUMP 🇳🇬 In a rare and awe-inspiring display of military courage and leadership, Brigadier General AS Aliyu etched his name in history today, successfully executing a parachute jump at Airborne Drop Zone, Jaji Military Cantonment. His daring feat is reminiscent of the historic jump by former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen KTJ Minimah, reaffirming the time-honored tradition of leading from the front in the Nigerian Army. The significance of Gen Aliyu’s achievement extends beyond personal bravery; it underscores his unwavering commitment to excellence, discipline, and the rigorous demands of military service. Unlike many senior officers who may choose to observe from a distance, Gen Aliyu opted to experience firsthand what young soldiers and cadets endure, a decision that has resonated deeply across military circles. Gen Aliyu's bold action embodies the enduring ethos of the profession of arms: "No guts, no glory." This momentous occasion serves as a valuable lesson in leadership, demonstrating that true leaders don't just issue orders - they lead by example and share in the challenges and triumphs of those they command. Brig Gen AS Aliyu's jump will serve as an enduring inspiration, a bold reminder that leadership is not about watching from the sidelines but about stepping forward, into the unknown, with those who will one day take up the mantle. As the Nigerian Army continues to nurture its future leaders, Brig Gen AS Aliyu's remarkable parachute jump will undoubtedly inspire and motivate them to emulate his courage and leadership. His actions reaffirm the Nigerian Army's values, showcasing a force where leaders don't just give orders, but also participate in the trials and triumphs of their troops.

I grew up in the Middle East, I survived both wars and our culture. It takes much more than a bunch of losers throwing an emotional tantrum to intimidate me. Harry Pettit 🇱🇧🇵🇸 is the teacher at Radboud University in Nijmegen who urged Dutch universities or the pro-Palestine mobs, to be specific, to give me “the warm welcome” I deserve, inciting the violence we witnessed today. Instead of teaching students to engage in dialogue, to challenge my position and try to understand why I identify as a recovered antisemite, he abused his position and acted as an anti-Israel activist leading a mob of angry, privileged, spoiled young men and women, most of which have never been to the Middle East and do not know the very basics about our region and the Arab-Israeli conflict. What I saw today on campus in Nijmegen is a display of moral bankruptcy, a despicable sense of entitlement and boiling frustration. A frustrated teacher who was previously arrested for his disruptive behavior could not cancel my events in the Netherlands. He came to the door and did not have the courage to come in. Instead he orchestrated a loud and aggressive protest outside and sent a few of his “disciples” to disrupt and be escorted out by the police risking their future being tainted with a criminal record. But who cares if Harry Pettit 🇱🇧🇵🇸 thinks they are heroes. In his (and their) world, I am a genocide apologist who was “sent off”. After my event, we were escorted by security and the police to prevent the pro-Palestine mob from lynching us. The innocent students who were “thrown to the ground” were trying to physically attack us and when they could not, they were punching and kicking the car, trying to open the doors, to get the driver out. They also jumped in front of the car to prevent us from leaving. If the police wasn’t there, what would they have done to us? When the pro-Palestine activists accuse us of horrors, they are projecting. At any Israel-Palestine event, the police is present to contain their violence, not ours. Milos Boksan

Facial reconstruction of a 2,600-year-old man from Mtskheta, Georgia In the Early Iron Age, the area of modern Mtskheta was home to four distinct cultural groups, each characterized by its own weapon arsenal. 1. The Samtavro culture, whose people had been present in the area longer than the other three groups and were characterized by their leaf-shaped daggers. Genetically, they belonged to the Trialeti/Lchashen genetic cluster and were likely Indo-European, possibly Armenic-speaking. 2. The Kakheti culture, whose people were characterized by a wide range of weapons, including daggers, swords, and spears. They originated farther east of Mtskheta and were genetically similar to the previous group, belonging to the Trialeti/Lchashen genetic cluster. They likewise likely spoke an Indo-European language, possibly Armenic. 3. The Koban-Colchian axe wielders, who likely originated to the north, from the Koban metropolis of Liakhvi (Tlia site), which was established in the Late Bronze Age following an expansion of Kobanian tribes, likely from the area of Brili in Racha. Genetically, they were characterized by high CHG ancestry and were likely Kartvelian-Svannic speakers. 4. Another group of Koban-Colchian axe wielders, who also incorporated spears and other weapons into their arsenal. Their genetic profile was similar to that of the aforementioned Kobanians, but with less CHG. They were likely Kartvelian-Georgian speakers originating from the Samtskhe and Borjomi areas, from sites such as Atskuri and Chitakhevi, and were expanding into other regions of modern Georgia. As time progressed deeper into the Iron Age, the contest for control of the Mtskheta area have been won by the last, Georgian group, as a few centuries later, during Antiquity, the historical record of the Iberians (East Georgians) begins with Mtskheta as their capital. The reconstructed individual belongs to a period characterized by Kartvelian dominance in the area, and was described by the anthropologist Malkhaz Abdushelishvili (1952) as follows: Grave burial No. 309. Northern section. 1948 (Kalandadze). Male skull, although fragmented, has been restored quite well. In superior view, it is very long and pentagonal in shape. In the sagittal plane, the following features are noted: strongly developed brow ridges, a sloping forehead, a rounded and gradually descending vertex toward the occiput, and a rounded, slightly projecting occiput. The face is medium-high and apparently broad, with slight alveolar prognathism. The relief is rather strongly expressed. The skull is large and massive. He had a large cranial length of 197 mm, a medium cranial width of 141 mm, a medium-large mandibular width of 102 mm, and a cranial capacity of 1,520 cm³.
