Offering another rationale for the US-Israeli war on Iran, Donald Trump claimed he ordered strikes to prevent a nuclear conflict that would have turned into World War III. He also said not even the “greatest experts” thought Iran would retaliate with attacks on Gulf states.

A map that shows how even a small, limited nuclear war between India and Pakistan would release enough particles into the atmosphere to trigger a small nuclear winter that would be felt worldwide.

Former Kremlin adviser Sergey Karaganov says that if NATO troops enter Ukraine, it would lead to nuclear war. “If there's an escalation, then there will be war, that's absolutely unequivocal. it will be a nuclear war,” Karaganov said. “I don’t want that, because I understand what such a development would mean. A nuclear war in Europe can easily be won, but it would entail terrible moral costs for us ourselves. Millions would die.”

A possible 🇮🇳🇵🇰nuclear war will get nuclear winter to the world. A nuclear war between India and Pakistan, involving even a limited exchange of their arsenals (estimated at 160–170 warheads each), could trigger a catastrophic nuclear winter. The explosions would loft massive soot into the stratosphere, blocking sunlight, dropping global temperatures by 1–5°C, and disrupting agriculture for years. This would lead to widespread famine, affecting billions, with the Global South facing the brunt. Such a conflict, though regional, would have devastating global consequences. Enoch Wu just warned that one thing could trigger a global economic crisis worse than the Iran war, the Ukraine war, and Covid “combined.” “All those effects combined would pale in comparison to… a conflict in the Taiwan Strait.” “And it doesn’t even have to be all-out war.” “Even a blockade scenario would have tremendous consequences.” “More than half of global trade goes through the Indo-Pacific.” 吳怡農 Enoch Wu

Donald Trump casually confesses he completely ignored expert consultants who warned his war in Iran would trigger a global depression and send oil to 300 dollars a barrel. The US President is recklessly gambling the entire global economy purely on an arrogant gut feeling.

President Trump’s position on Iran has been unwavering for decades: Iran must never be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon. After a 90-day military campaign, which I prefer to call an excursion, he now stands on the verge of turning that long-held principle into reality. Critics like Tucker Carlson, who insisted that striking Iran would trigger World War III, were completely wrong.
