Good advice but she’s wrong thinking the governments loyalty rest with their constituents and not the insurance company who has a strong lobby in state governments that helps with these board/committee appointments of the people on the hearings………….

Nah the government is in place to take care of their lobbyists

All the insurance company has to do is pull their service from your doctor and the doctor will fold and throw you under the bus.

We shouldn’t have to threaten legal action to get health care.

This isn’t exactly correct the insurance won’t initiate & go to the state. I’ve been doing this and fighting for my patients 11 years in IL. The provider/RN designate or pt is typically initiating the fair hearing review case submitting records, letter of med necessity, and more

Don’t know if it would work for everyone but I had an issue with my husband’s diabetic med being denied. I started asking to be provided with the Drs name who was making the decision about what medicine was sufficient for him. When they said the decision was made by a board of non-doctors, I asked how they could practice medicine w/o a license. They covered the medicine.

Please do this in writing. And nobody is calling you to tell you your ‘medical insurance bill’ is denied. You get statements but always appeal in writing or the shit will disappear. -Medical biller coder Sup
