Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade runs smooth on Switch 2. The 30fps isn't as good as the 60fps on PS5/XB, but the graphics hold up well. I didn't feel any fps dips or hitches either. Having this natively portable in this quality is cool. $40 price point is nice...

Considering the PS5 is like 5 times the size of a Nintendo Switch 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth graphics are holding extremely well on the Switch 2. The PS5 looks better, but I wouldn't mind playing this on a Switch 2. Excellent job by SE. Credit:

Playing the Pragmata demo on Switch 2. Sadly the console doesn’t capture clips at 60 fps but I can confirm that this game looks fantastic and is running buttery smooth on Switch 2. And it’s fun as hell! Definitely snagging this one on Switch 2.

The pre-release version of Crimson Desert reviewed by Digital Foundry on PS5 Pro had some significant dips in framerate in optimized mode which targets 60FPS. This happened during a combat sequence where you have tons of enemies and NPC around you. As Digital Foundry suggested this is a sign of a CPU-bottleneck from the Zen 2 architecture on the PS5 Pro. When they tested out Quality mode, it had a locked 30FPS with little to no dips.

Metal Gear Solid Delta is poorly optimised on all platforms and it's disingenuous to use it as indicative of typical PS5 Pro advantages. Even in its infancy PS5 Pro's often delivering on Cerny's target of it achieving PS5 30fps mode like fidelity, only at 60fps. Numerous tentpole games this year show sizeable improvements. Battlefield 6 Beta - "Substantially" better IQ and up to 55% better fps than PS5 in performance mode. Assassin's Creed Shadows - Generationally tansformative RTGI/fidelity mode settings, but at 60fps. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Fidelity and graphics settings of PS5's 30fps mode, but at 60fps. Death Stranding 2 - Near locked 60fps with similar IQ and fidelity as PS5's 30fps mode. Monster Hunter Wilds - Far superior image stability and more consistent 60fps vs PS5. As someone who bought a PS5 Pro at launch, I can absolutely say it's been worth it for me, and I'd struggle to go back to the base system. There will always be outliers like MGS Delta, but they don't represent typical improvements PS5 Pro generally brings. Much like PC releases with issues like shader compilation or traversal stutter, or more general bugginess vs console counterparts, it would be unfair to use those things as indicative of PC gaming performance improvements in totality, or to conclude all PC gaming hardware is a scam lol. sure there’s stuff that didn’t age as well like the motion capture, and I absolutely love how real final fantasy remake looks, but I don’t think I’d be upset if we never progressed further than late ps2 graphics it holds up

This is why I love video game demos. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a game I had literally 0 interest in before randomly deciding to download the demo on Switch 2 and now I’m hooked. The world is interesting. The characters are gripping. The gameplay is great. I’m buying this game.
