THIS IS WHY Those of us who saw IT on our TVs in '97 don't want to hear how it's "underrated" or "overhyped" from modern gamer children. It changed the landscape of gaming. Period.

I remember seeing commercials for this game on MTV and feeling so proud that the series I had loved since the first game was entering mainstream success. Sadly, the games changed quite a bit from there on, so it was sort of a monkey's paw situation for me.

I was 13 when FF7 released and I remember how huge the marketing was back then. Every TV channel had commercials, and every retail store had huge cardboard signs. Hell, even Pepsi and other companies were advertising the game on their boxes.

Did they really spoil Aerith death?

This needs to be recreated for part 3.

And not a single frame of gameplay shown. I knew people who wanted to buy based on just these cutscene commercials. "Dude, the graphics!" "It's just FMVs." "Yeah, but the graphics!" "That's not what the main game looks like, and you hate RPGs." "GRAPHICS!"
