I think it helps if some of these games were already programmed with unlocked framerates is why some don't require patches to reach higher framerates

Je redécouvre Bayonetta 3 sur Switch 2, ça n’a tellement plus rien à voir avec la Switch 1 qui avait énormément de chute de frame rate. Car la particularité de cet épisode, c’est les combats avec les invocations géantes, et là c’est d’une fluidité constante(60fps sauf la capture)

Another day, another odd and old-school technical issue in #Nioh3. This game doesn’t just expect the frame rate to hit its FPS cap to work properly, it also wants the FPS to line up with the display refresh rate. Using the 60 fps cap at 120Hz (or higher) can result in lots of frame-time spikes and microstuttering. the only way to avoid this is to switch the refresh rate to 60 Hz, which gives a much smoother frame time graph. Frame Generation on top of a 60 FPS base at 120 Hz works flawlessly without any frame time issues.

Playing Bayonetta 3 from scratch after 3 years feels strangely nostalgic and sad at the same time. We had so many great memories with this game (300 hours maybe), but at the same time, it received so much hate from others. Playing it on Switch 2 makes me realize this is probably what we should have had on the original Switch: a beautiful, stable 60 FPS experience. PlatinumGames clearly had to cut the game down to the bone just to make it run. Textures, effects, distant scenery… you can see the compromises everywhere. And that poor Switch used to get so hot it felt like you could cook a chicken on it. Yet the characters and combat still look incredible. Now, on Switch 2, the game runs effortlessly. No heat, no noise, no struggle. Just silent. It honestly feels bittersweet. I’ll keep saying it: we deserve a Bayonetta 3 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
