Finally got around to making the camera system I've always wanted! 📷 #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #GodotEngine #Godot

Nice work! The camera feels smooth and responsive overall. One thing that caught my eye was what seemed like a slight increase in movement speed near the map boundaries. I’m not sure if that’s intentional, but it stood out to me from the regular camera movement.

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I'm not sure what you mean tho? If anything, the camera slows down near the map boundaries to a complete stop. Or are you talking about when transitioning from zone to zone? If so then yeah, it has to speed up to frame the player.

Oh, I see! Yes, that’s what I was noticing- the speed-up during the zone transitions. That makes perfect sense. It looks like you’ve definitely got the camera worked out. Nice work!

Beautifully made!! Love it!!

is the camera attached to the player?

@washpotatod Not really. It can be anywhere in the node tree. It has an exported target variable that it uses to retrieve the position at the end of every frame.

Loving the Sprite run animation

Eu sempre quis saber como faz essas câmeras com movimento suave

Still one of my fav projects

Nice! Maybe add some indication when the player moves to the next map section. The camera suddenly speeding up was a bit surprising.

Nice parallax effect! Not many platformers get it correctly when the screen scrolls vertically.

I don't know why but this type of games where everything is understandable and had decent animations make me feel so happy

Looks great.

Love the doggy! 😂

This looks so good. Honestly I was waiting to see more updates on this. I'm currently a bit struggling with making a 2d platformer. too lazy to work on the animations so just stuck in placeholder hell :(

Feels like its literally being filmed, very cool

cool~!

Pretty cool, this felt like a combination of deadzone with camera room. It's really well done 🔥🔥🔥

可愛すぎる。プレイしてみたい…!🎮✨

It turned out really well, one day I’ll make that dream come true too. Your character's movement is perfect as well, great job!

The camera easing as it follows the jumps really sells the platforming feel, no jarring snaps at all. Clean pixel mountain backdrop too.

very nice. sleek, slick and smooth, how all cameras should be 😎

I'm suspecting that your camera switch between vertical and horizontal scrolling?, it is really smooth, congrats!

This is such a satisfying bit of polish the framing and movement do so much work here, especially in pixel art where every nudge is obvious 📷

This looks so so smooth! I’d love to see how it’s put together, I’ve been working on my camera system and I just can’t seem to find the right balance on anything

nice!

Looks great!
