Can't say I'm all that impressed with Waymo etc when it is pretty much a closed environment with lidar etc. Tesla has the correct idea with vision only. Have you seen videos of the new Supervised FSD?

Man it would drive me nuts with how slow it goes and how much it hesitates. I could beat it by about 15-20 mins on that same drive, which renders it useless to me. Still pretty impressive though.
