Finally my unique take on emulation frontends is here ;) The box covers and cartridge labels are not hand selected! I currently have a database of almost every game (incl. different regions) for 20+ consoles. From GameBoy to Switch! What do you think? This will ship with Sly!

I'm intending to support this on mobile phones, portable platforms (emulation devices/peripherals), PC and more! My dream is running this in the living room on my LG TV lol

For the curious, Sly is a new and modern multi system emulator that's aiming to provide a cool user experience and also a fantastic and highly modern developer experience! It runs on *my* cores. It's not built on libretro, so development will take time!

Take the cartridge/box models and textures, and release them in an open format. I would love to use these in a custom Godot frontend for the AYN Thor's bottom screen.

All of my emulators are open source and so will this one be! I didn't make all the models myself, they are largely edited versions of already publicly available ones (I made sure their license allows of course) [1/2]

As for the textures (box cover, labels): They are already up on an API that I'm intending to open up. Right now it's invite-only

I'd say, either fix the animation of the cartridge coming off the stack or remove it altogether. Right now rotation and settle are a bit jittery and a bit of a distraction if the user is fast cycling through the stack. Love the boxes though.

When you press to load a ROM. I think it would be cool if it went to insert into the console. With the satisfying click sound they have. Love it though, looks great

Looks pretty neat. One thing I would do to make it more unique would be when you select a game the console appears and the bottom and the cartridge gets inserted into the console

As in for the textures? Good question lol The full database is about 200gb. I'd have to check later. The ones that exist should be 1:1 accurate, these are exact scans of the boxes and labels themselves!

Preservation of every game box art with a 3D rendering is a great leap! Also we can imagine the 3D animation when launching the ROM :)
