I just had the same conversation with my friend. Sadly, whether Alex was an ICU nurse in normal life is moot. In the end Alex was an agitator who was pushing ICE agents and resisting arrest, all while carrying a gun; he was a potentially dangerous criminal threat who FA and FO.

Killing someone has to be the absolutely last possible resort. X is promoting a blitzkrieg of posts saying ‘oh well never mind, it was all an accident and it was the nurses fault really’. Law enforcement have a responsibility to protect life not murder civilians.

I think showing up to a protest armed is stupid. You’re needlessly elevating your risk level. Protesting anti-2A legislation by showing up to an armed protest is different, obviously. But the same principles apply, if a law enforcement officer tries detaining you, you’re not going to resist. You’re not going to go for your weapon. You argue it in court afterward. Our VA Nurse dude showed up with a concealed weapon, without his CCW or any other identification on him. Why? Because he planned to actively participate in obstructing law enforcement. He put his hands on a law enforcement officer first. Which lead to them wanting to detain him. We know how the rest of it turned out.

First thing he should have done was raise his hands above his head and inform them he was armed. Then follow their instructions. Period. He would still be alive.
