Voice is unlikely to work, it has not worked in US NZ or Canada There are hundreds of Aboriginal groups, many have different languages. Representing them all would be a nightmare. Voice in the constitution can just be defunded by any parliament, making it useless.

I believe if it's added to the constitution it is permanent.

What is in the proposed Constitution changes, is that parliament will decide on composition, functions, powers and procedures. In other words, parliament can decide on the funding and number of Voice employees. It can easily make it powerless. I am surprised so few have noticed.

Albanese himself stated that it would be a brave government that ignored the 'voice'. They would make full use of the High Court. There's no need for it to be enshrined in the constitution and in that case there would be no need for a referendum. It could be legislated.

In view of the fact that Voice has not worked in other countries, it seems silly to put it in the constitution, where it will sit, permanently. if it does not work it will be a permanent reminder of our folly.

Anderson is a SERIOUS politician. I'd listen to him and Abbott before I'd consider any of the buffoons in labor. #VoteNo

The Mabo decision was arrived at under the Westminster system within the high court of Australia. Proof that native title exists and can be determined with the present constitutional laws. So then begs the question, why do we need to change the constitution?
