Finally, something for the Doomers to get excited about. Zero Knowledge 🤝 DOOM Together at last, powered by the RISC Zero zkVM

The ability to run DOOM inside a zkVM is a widely recognized problem with far reaching consequences. Turns out @m0thran did it in an afternoon:

At RISC Zero, we've been doing open source since the beginning. We were the first to offer an open source zkVM based on RISC-V, the first to offer an open source Type 1 zkEVM, and are now the first to offer a port of DOOM for general purpose zkVMs:

Thanks to this work, zkVMs will no longer be judged by Fibonacci numbers. At long last, the industry has a fair benchmark that reflects real-world use cases. And like so many things announced in the last few weeks, it wouldn’t have been possible without RISC Zero.
