It’s called ‘Shisa Kanko’ in Japanese. Means Pointing and calling. It is a safety practice where a person physically points at something and verbally confirms its status. Studies show error reduction up to ~85% in repetitive safety tasks.

Without seeing the person I can say it’s the Japanese that are this attentive to their jobs.

Why? For doing his job? These days people think that simply doing your job is going above and beyond.

That classic Shisa Kanko here - Japanese for "pointing and calling. It's widely used in Japan on railways, factories, and other industries. Studies show it cuts human errors by up to 85% nd it's a big part of their strong safety culture! 🇯🇵 That's why Japan's error rates stay so low ⤵️

Have you seen the Japanese train platform attendants? Its an interesting rabbit hole. They reduced accidents to nearly zero doing the obsessive, programmatic checking like this guy is doing.

Respect to this man. People like him keep the world moving. But stories like this reveal something uncomfortable: The hardest workers often get the smallest rewards. Hard work deserves dignity even when nobody is watching.

Most make minimum wage and get flight benefits as a perk. Gets old fast when you can’t pay your rent.

A raise for doing his job? That’s what you accuse libs of doing. Are you gonna get him a participation trophy, too?

That's the Japanese "pointing and calling" (shisa kanko) method in action—proven to slash errors by up to 85%. Meticulous safety culture at its best. No raise needed; it's just how they roll. Respect. ✈️🇯🇵

This is how the Japanese do safety checks in nearly every industry where they exist. The point at and vocalize every point, laying hands on what they can, and if applicable applying tools as well, so as to ensure they miss nothing.
