Finnish President Stubb: ◾️ I think the DNA of Russia is still expansion and imperialism. And I think the driver of Putin is Russkiy Mir - Great Russia - which basically means one Russia, one language, one religion, and one leader. I think he still sees the collapse of the Soviet Union as a big travesty. ◾️ If I look at it from a Russian perspective, and if the Russians were honest with themselves, none of their strategic goals have succeeded. What did Putin want? He wanted to take over Ukraine - he made Ukraine European. He wanted to split NATO - he actually got two additional members, Sweden and Finland. He wanted to split the transatlantic partnership. While someone might say there are cracks in it, I still believe, in the long run, it hasn't happened. He wanted to split Europe - it's more united than ever. He wanted to keep defense expenditure down - we're now all going to 5%. So, things are not going his way. Stubb: Putin failed all his goals. He planned to take Ukraine in 4 days — it’s 4 years. He sought to divide the West — it’s more united than ever. He wanted less NATO spending — Trump raised it to 5%. And Ukraine became very European and not Russian at all. 1/

Finnish President Stubb to Putin: He wanted to make Ukraine Russian. It became European. He wanted to prevent the enlargement of NATO. He got Finland and Sweden. And he wanted to keep our defense expenditure down, and it’s now going up to 5%. When the war began, Russia acquired 12% of Ukrainian territory. That was 12 years ago. Since then, 8%. In the past two years, 1%. In December, Ukraine was able to kill 34,000 Russian soldiers. They were not able to recruit them back. Just keep on what you’re doing, and at the end of the day you will prevail and win this war.

🇫🇮 President of Finland Alexander Stubb: "If you look at it from Putin’s perspective, this operation has been a strategic failure on so many levels. First, he wanted to take over Ukraine, but instead, Ukraine has become more European and firmly transatlantic. Second, he wanted to prevent NATO from expanding, yet he ended up pushing Finland and Sweden into the alliance. And third, he wanted to project Russian global power. But look at Russia’s influence now in Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, or Iran. It’s nowhere to be seen."

President Stubb: I think you [Ukraine] are winning this war, and the reason I say this is that Putin has failed strategically. He wanted to make Ukraine Russian. It became European. He wanted to prevent the enlargement of NATO. He got Finland and Sweden. He wanted to keep our defense expenditure down, and it's now going up to 5%. Secondly, he's losing on the military front. When the war began, Russia acquired 12% of Ukrainian territory. That's 12 years ago. Since then, 8%. In the past two years, 1%. In December, Ukraine was able to kill 34,000 Russian soldiers. Stubb: We need to reverse the narrative that Putin is winning the war in Ukraine. He is not. He tried to take over Ukraine. He failed. He tried to stop NATO from expanding. Also failed. He tried to keep NATO’s defense spending down. It’s now at 5%. 1/

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte: "I've not changed my views on Vladimir Putin. I don't trust the guy." "Look what Putin achieved. He wanted to divide the West. And now Finland and Sweden have joined NATO. He wanted to divide the West. And now we have committed to a 5% spending target. So he cannot be very happy. And he should not be very happy [about this NATO summit]."

Tuberville says Putin has only wanted peace all along but the U.S. wants war: “He dudn’t want Ukraine. He dudn’t want Europe. Hell, he’s got enough land of his own. He just wants to make sure he does not have US weapons in Ukraine.”

🇫🇮🇷🇺 He wanted to Russify Ukraine — and got NATO expansion instead: Stubb on Putin’s humiliating failure The Finnish president said Putin’s key goals had ended in complete failure. Judge for yourself: “Remember, Putin’s goal was to Russify Ukraine? Instead, it became European. Russia’s goal was to stop NATO expansion? Finland and Sweden joined the alliance. Russia’s goal was to keep European defense spending low? We are heading toward 5%. Ukraine’s very survival — which is highly likely — will already mean that Ukraine has won this war.” And yes, Stubb genuinely believes that Ukraine will eventually become a member of both the European Union and NATO.

"Putin said to me he wanted to see the Finlandization of Europe. I said I'll tell you what you're going to get, the NATO-ization of Finland." Unlike trump, President Biden did not bow down to Putin. He's the definition of a REAL leader. 🇺🇸

The Putin-Trump meeting was a disaster, as predicted. Putin got everything he wanted: a photo op legitimizing his war crimes, no ceasefire, and no sanctions or new weapons for Ukraine. Trump's goal was to keep Putin happy. He succeeded.

French President Macron on Trump and Ukraine: When Trump arrived, he thought Ukraine was going to lose. That is why he wanted a rapid peace agreement. Remember January–February 2025. He thought Ukraine was going to lose. President Trump saw that everything he had been told—"they will collapse," "they won't get through the winter"—was false. And that he is dealing with courageous, innovative people whom he respects.
