🚨 (SITREP) A Cargo Vessel Exploded Near Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland 👀 • Location: Patapsco River near the Francis Scott Key Bridge, Baltimore, MD at approximately 6:28 PM EDT. • Vessel Involved: MV W Sapphire, a bulk carrier loaded with coal, departing from the CSX Curtis Bay coal piers in Baltimore. • Casualties: No injuries reported as of the latest updates. • The ship has been escorted off Fort Howard. Fire crews and U.S. Coast Guard vessels are on scene. The fire has been contained • Cause: They don’t know.. it is is under investigation, with initial speculation pointing towards a coal-related incident, possibly methane explosion or coal dust ignition. • The MV W Sapphire was en route to Port Louis, Mauritius, with an estimated arrival on September 23, 2025.
