One of the better uses for drones. Love seeing this tech with the potential for some truly terrifying stuff get used for good.

Agreed

Lifting the weight of the hoses plus the water, not mention the force of the nozzles. I am having a hard time believing those drones are that powerful.

That's cool as hell. Can imagine a situation where they can't climb up but need to start controlling the flames. Would save tons of lives.

This is such a great idea and I’m wondering why the world wasn’t doing this since drones started flying.

This is actually really cool tbh

(April 2020) Chongqing City, China - Unmanned aircraft can extinguish a blazing 10-storey building within minutes. China has unveiled a new firefighting drone that can put out a blazing high-rise building within minutes. Video shows six drones were deployed in the air as they extinguished the 10-storey block covered in smoke during a drill. The huge fire was under control within 10 minutes and completely put out in less than 15 minutes, according to the local press. 'In the past, we only considered using drones individually to extinguish a fire, which wasn't ideal,' Mr Cao told the press. 'Also, in some situations when the fire truck cannot enter [the scene] quick enough. The drone can lift up the hose pipes to save time for the rescue. 'Experiments have demonstrated [drones] working in groups can quickly seize a large fire and improve the initial rescue efforts,' Mr Cao added. The manufacturer said they plan to officially introduce the devices to the public in the summer this year (2020) after improving its accuracy of controls and ability to work in groups. Drones have been widely adopted to help firefighters tackle blazing buildings and wildland fire. They can be sent to fire locations as scouts, using cameras with thermal imaging technology to help first responders in their rescue efforts. Firefighters in the U.S. have been using drones for emergency scenarios such as rescuing survivors and putting out fires. London Fire Brigade also uses drones to help improve their responses to incident and access areas which are unsafe for firefighters. Full Article:

Yes, as long as the fire is isolated to the window frame exclusively and not in the interior of the building...

Remote drone stations placed throughout the city could significantly reduce response times. Cool idea.

Always China 🇨🇳 using it’s technology, to make the world better. While the other war mongering country focuses on shoving democracy on other countries throat!
