Fireworks on Chinese new year, china has stringent laws which reversed their AQI problem if it was due to fireworks they would've banned it but I guess you know better. Anybody who thinks fireworks not stubble burning is behind poor AQI is a moron.

When we moved here, a fellow American warned me, “Think of the biggest Fourth of July celebration you’ve ever been to and then multiply that by 10 and imagine it lasting 5 hours.” And even that doesn’t begin to describe what New Year’s Eve is like here. 90% of Germany’s fireworks are sold in 3 days, every street becomes a launchpad, and anyone can be a pyrotechnician. 🎆 Here’s our view from last year. And it went on and on for hours.

It's important to know that the Thing which is sometimes called a "camel spider" is better called a solpugid or solifugid. It's not a spider at all. It has no venom glands, and kills prey by crunching them up with their massive jaws (the most powerful for their size of any animal). A really big one can nip you, and probably draw blood if you let it hang on long enough. But no venom of any sort. They just look super scary. I kept one as a pet for a while but it was a pretty terrible pet because all it wanted to do was escape the terrarium 24/7. Spiders, scorpions, and mantises are way more chill.

Grandad nearly died. This is a joke from Work in Progress show Otley Courthouse last December. I did about 30 of these to write my new tour show. Many hundreds of jokes were goof but didn’t make the cut for the tour, like this. I’ve done lots of variants on this gag and never really got it where I want it. If you think I was too harsh or thinks you have a better take on it let me know.
