Everyone’s scared a gunshot in a sub will set off a Michael Bay explosion. Reality: it’s just underwater dodgeball at 200 meters.

I was told once that the US Navy uses 12ga steel shot onboard vessels for defense if their ships are boarded. The method is stated: poke the barrel out of a doorway or hatch, using that for cover, and turning the hallways and rooms into a blender.
