But we also heard that AOC and Ilhan Omar would destroy Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and we won 43 seats that year and Trump was more popular than he is now. There are also a lot of denominations of progressives - they don’t all want to abolish prisons. Some want to work with the party like Brad Lander is talking about getting Hakeem Jeffries the gavel. The DSA vs normie Democrat narrative is a big oversimplification.

But if you want serious DSA coverage based on what the organization is actually saying and doing internally, please consider my work. Dave Smith’s DSA analysis is not good, which is shocking given how confidently he talks about it, the fact that he is a libertarian, and his ties to New York. I asked a DSA leader to pitch you socialism. This is the elevator pitch that he used to convert 1000s of voters into socialists and he did it door to door. The DSA got 3 socialist congressional candidates to win their primaries, so I would listen. If you would want to see who the DSA really are and what they stand for like abolishing prisons then I'd recommend the YouTube video in the comments.
