California has RESTRICTED the federal government from looking into its voter rolls. F.A. United States Attorney Bill Essayli explains: “The stated reason is, they say that it would violate California’s privacy laws to hand over personal identifying information of voters to the federal government. Mind you, we issue most of that personal identifying information, such as a social security number. So they’re hiding behind state privacy laws which [are] preempted by a federal statute. Why? Because they don’t want anyone to look under the tent there. They don’t want anyone to see how dirty their voter rolls are. They’re filthy, dirty voter rolls. They have no desire to clean them up because the system, the people in power, probably benefit from occasional fraud that occurs in there.”
