At my aunts old Chinese buffet that was located inside of a Howard Johnson, we had an issue with theft. People would come in and enjoy the buffet but we noticed the ones with backpacks and big purses would have ziploc bags and Tupperware in their backpacks and purses. My aunt and uncle are very reasonable people, the price they charge for the buffet is the price customers pay to enjoy it while they are there. No carry out boxes are permitted to take anything home. The restaurant even has a sign that prohibits these items and the sign says to leave them in your hotel room or in your car. When my aunt and uncle left for vacation they had me fill in to run the restaurant for them. I had a group of 6 teenagers come into the restaurant from the hotel. I chit chatted with them being friendly and they said they were in town for a softball tournament. I didn’t seat them, one of the waiters did so I didn’t notice anything strange. But when they all got up to get food they always got huge heaping plates of food, they repeatedly went to get more food. On one occasion I noticed a black backpack tucked into the booth between the seat and the wall. I checked the cameras and yes, they took turns eating and when they thought nobody was looking they would dump the food into a bag in their backpack. I saw a huge plate of crab legs disappear, a plate of crab Rangoon and chicken wings was next. On their way to pay I said something to them. I mentioned I saw what they were doing and to avoid an issues I would be charging them double. I felt that was fair because that was the price of a Togo buffet. They were embarrassed, I was expecting an argument but they said they wanted extra food for when they got hungry at night after their game. I wanted to be lenient and just give it to them but if I did that for one person I would have to do it for all and it would costs the restaurant too much for food costs. But they did end up paying the double price and to be fair to them I did give them each a Togo container since I charged them for it. I told them to dump their food into it and if they had extra room in the Togo box they can grab more food. I managed to diffuse the situation and turned it into something positive, I feel that was more than fair.

Jamie Pollard expresses his frustration with the Big Ten and SEC for not adhering to the rules of the College Sports Commission. He adds he would be okay with the two conferences splitting from the NCAA. "The four commissioners spent a lot of money creating the CSC. Then to have two of the conferences not want to adhere to it is perplexing to me, because then, why did we spend the money? If you didn't want rules, then why did you create this entity? That's what's frustrating to me, the same people that say they want rules only want rules if they don't apply to them... I said it three years ago, let em break away. I would turn it around and say we should break away from them. Let them go, but they have to go in all their sports and see how fun it is to play baseball and softball and track when it's just the 20 of you. That's what I think we should do, but I'm one person, and you know that's probably a little more draconian, but that's how I feel about it. Let's quit talking about it, quit threatening, go do it. But if you're going to do it, you don't get to just do it in football and then keep all your other sports with us. No, take them all, see how fun it is."

I VEHEMENTLY disagree with Paul Finebaum’s criticism of Coach Deion Sanders, Sheduer Sanders and Colorado. He called them irrelevant and that they don’t matter to College Football. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Colorado is very relevant and broke TV viewership records last year even after their 3-0 start that saw them finish the year 4-8. They out drew some of the biggest brands in all of College Football last year. Their blowout loss to Oregon had 10.03 million viewers, which topped the Notre Dame-Ohio State game. Shedeur Sanders stated that Colorado is everyone’s Super Bowl game when they play them. HE IS CORRECT, if you take the time to understand what he meant. Every team that played Colorado last year played their hardest against them because they knew everyone was watching and it was their opportunity to shine in front of the masses. It wasn’t JUST ABOUT winning, they wanted to humiliate them and kill their confidence. It pains many that Coach Prime, his sons, Travis Hunter, his coaches and all his players are still walking in their purpose and have never wavered for a second. They know the mission they are on and won’t back down in the face of adversity. Colorado wasn’t an “Easy win” last year for anyone except Oregon and Washington State. 5 of their 8 losses were by one score or less. Colorado making the College Football Playoff AT SOME POINT in Deion Sanders’ tenure would be a great thing for College Football. Not just for the increased viewership, but because taking a program that last won a Conference Championship when Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter weren’t even born yet would be an incredible accomplishment and rebuild. Colorado doesn’t have to go to the College Football Playoff this year and will still be relevant. Teams will be jumping out of their skin to get after them a little extra because they think they are too confident. Coaches will up the passion because they believe they deserve the attention and eyeballs that Coach Prime and Colorado demand. Like Coach Prime said, he is analyzed different and his wins are measured differently. One thing is for sure though. Coach Prime is building something at Colorado and as an analyst, I don’t think we should be trying kick him and his team down because they are confident and believe in themselves. They are great for College Football because they are different. Different might make people uncomfortable, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Caesars used his winning ticket on their own social media to market their sportsbook. Then refused to pay him. Those posts were quietly deleted. – Manny Cortez was a sports betting content creator with a large following on social media. – In June 2024 he placed a $143,000 bet on the Boston Celtics to win the 2024 NBA Championship at Harrah's Cherokee Hotel and Casino in North Carolina. – The Celtics won the title. His ticket paid out $357,500. Total winnings: $500,000. – Before refusing to pay him Caesars Sportsbook and Harrah's Cherokee posted his winning ticket on their own official social media accounts to market their sportsbook to customers. – Then they refused to pay him. – Their reason was that Cortez had used a third party to physically hand the ticket across the counter, known in the industry as using a beard. – Casino house rules prohibit players from using someone else to place bets on their behalf. – Caesars refunded his $143,000 stake. They kept the $357,500 profit. – Cortez posted a video of himself arguing with casino officials that went viral immediately. – On his own Instagram account he had previously posted a photo of his betting slip with a caption about calling his bookie to raise the limit. – Investigators used that post as evidence he had coordinated the bet through someone else. – He was banned from all Caesars properties across the country. – The North Carolina sports betting regulator reviewed the case and filed no charges. Well, another one run loss, 7-6 to Southern Miss on the road after an 8-7 loss to UCLA on Sunday. You're in it each time, and just can't push it through. What else can you say? To their credit, Southern Miss jumped on Mississippi State early in the game, like they did last year in a 3-0 win. But, to their credit, Mississippi State came back and took a lead. It was back and forth, but in the end... Here are Coach Brian O' Connor's postgame comments. We are not posting any player comments tonight, though. They stood there, took the questions, and answered, but the PA Music was Rolling Stones level, and it wouldn't be fair to you or them to publish it. Fortunately, the volume level was lower when Coach Oak came over. He tells it straight, like he always does, and face it, there are a bunch of tired folks right now ready to head for home and sleep in their beds tonight for the first time in a week. College Sports, a Great American Institution that produces our many Athletes, Leaders, and Olympic Dominance, is a total “mess,” and everyone is saying that it must be fixed. After unending lawsuits and crazed rulings, there are virtually no limits anymore, and soon most Colleges won't have Sports because each and every one of them will be bankrupt, never to be heard from again. Women's Sports, and the Olympics, itself, are in the most danger from this catastrophic situation. College Sports are turning into Pro Sports, except with absolutely no rules, a result no one wants. University Presidents, Conference Commissioners, Student-Athletes, Coaches, and Athletic Directors all complained to me that it has become a disaster, after years of no action, and that Schools were losing Hundreds of Millions of Dollars a year. They compared it to a freight train that can’t be stopped! That is why, a few months ago, I convened a Roundtable bringing together a World-Class Team of some of the best Sports Executives, Student-Athletes, and Political Leaders in our Country. The goal was to find a Bipartisan solution to fix the problem. Based on these meetings and the expertise of the Leading Authorities, I signed an Executive Order, but I always said that the best solution was to get a Bipartisan Act of Congress to my desk in order to save a long and embarrassing ROAD THROUGH HELL for these Institutions. I’d like to thank Senators Ted Cruz, Eric Schmitt, Maria Cantwell, and Chris Coons, among others, for introducing the Protect College Sports Act. This Law resolves many of the most urgent issues challenging our Universities and Student-Athletes, stops the chaos and, most importantly, it may be the last chance to save College Sports, and Colleges themselves, before it's too late. The House has worked long and hard on this issue as well, and I am very grateful to Speaker Mike Johnson and Leader Steve Scalise for their work to fix this very major problem. I urge the House and Senate to come together to pass a final Bipartisan Law, that I can sign this summer, that reflects the views and input of both Chambers. WE HAVE TO SAVE COLLEGE SPORTS!
