First impressions of Slate Auto: It’s fun It’s small It’s laidback It’s accessible It’s customizable It’s everything you need and nothing more Basically it’s the IKEA of automobiles and I think it could be just what the electric vehicle market needs.

@slateauto I never thought I'd see this again. Ever.

@slateauto The thought is nice in theory. Let’s see if it actually hits the road

@slateauto If they can sell the 150 mile pack for under $20,000 and the 240 mile pack for under $25,000 profitably, they’ll do well

@slateauto Temu Rivian is more like it.

@slateauto ☠️

@slateauto The issue I’m already seeing is most responses are calling for longer range/more features. People don’t actually want the basic, cheap cars they claim to when actually presented with them. Cool idea but I predict sales failure. Love to be proven wrong.

@slateauto A prototype is one thing, production at scale is a whole different beast.

@slateauto Especially at the price they’re targeting

@slateauto How much would you bet that they'll likely have a deal to sell some diy parts off of @Amazon at some point? 😄 "I think I'll get the fastback top now, a tablet with a tablet holster and speakers!" If it's got an induction motor with AC Fast charging capability too, winning!🔋🛻

@slateauto Lots of "if they can" in this..... I hope they really can but production is hard and profit is even harder
