Here's an interesting trend I've noticed among non-fiction authors: The Direct Pre-Order. Instead of doing pre-orders through Amazon, B&N, and other major marketplaces, you sell your books directly through your own (or your publisher's) online store. Why do this? There are three huge benefits: 1. Build a direct connection with your readers 2. Offer bundles and unique pre-order perks 3. Keep 40% more of each sale by avoiding Amazon royalty fees Plus, it's just a better experience for your readers. Look at the examples I share in the video. We are doing direct pre-orders for Damn Gravity's two upcoming titles: 'The Experimentation Machine' by Jeff Bussgang and 'Building Rocketships' by Oji Udezue and Ezinne Udezue But we aren't the only ones. Jim O'Shaughnessy is doing this with his new book (published by ). Louis Grenier and Justin Moore | Sponsorship Coach are too (@TiltPublishing ). It's not a new thing... HBR and other indie publishers have experimented with this for a long time. But now it's easier than ever to pull off with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, etc. The Direct Pre-Order has tradeoffs... your sales don't count towards major lists and shipping is a bit more expensive (compared to FREE via Amazon Prime). How to use DeFillama to spot new trends early. 1. Go to Chains and filter based off highest 1 day or 7 day change. 2. Find the chains that have the biggest changes in TVL. Make sure the chain has a decent baseline for volume. 3. Click on the chain to see what protocol is driving inflows. Shimmer and MultiverseX stand out to me so I want to see what is driving growth. 4. Do more research and see if there are catalysts for the chain. 5. Look at the price of the token compared to recent TVL. Volume often precedes price changes. 6. Go to Fees/Revenue to find revenue info on specific projects. If you find a project with growing revenue but no price movement, that could warrant more research. 7. For new chains, you gain exposure either through holding the native token or looking for farms on app protocols. 8. Remember that the newer something is, the more risk it carries. Make sure the chain and app are legitimate before putting your money in.

It’s a silly approach.” Jeff recommends working backwards from a higher stock price to its controllable inputs instead: “What are the inputs to a higher stock price? Okay, well, free cash flow and return on invested capital are inputs to a higher stock price. Let’s keep working backwards. What are the inputs to free cash flow? And you keep working backwards until you get to something that’s controllable.” He points out that a controllable input to free cash flow would be something like a lower cost structure: “If we can improve our picking efficiency in our fulfillment centers and reduce defects - reducing defects at the root is one of the best ways to lower cost structure - that starts to be a job you would accept. Here is my beautiful American Akita Kona. Experts will say do not buy this dog as your first pet, I did. Here’s what I’ve learned these past two years. She will absolutely kill anyone or anything that comes near my home. She’s extremely loyal and loving. She is insanely strong and agile. She’s extremely intelligent but very stubborn. Like a crazy girlfriend, if you piss her off and don’t show enough attention, she’s going to Amber Heard on your rug. The best choice I ever made was selecting an American Akita. If you’re looking for a dog to protect your family, and Home look no further. A pitbull got loose and ran into my yard when I had her out there for a walk. she jumped in front of me and hit the dog once. I never seen a pitbull run so fast.
