Assessing Alabama’s portal additions — First up is…. - WR Noah Rogers - 6’2”, 197 lbs. - Career Stats: 68 REC, 919 Yds, 3 TDs Rogers was a hot commodity out of high school. Programs like Clemson, Alabama, North Carolina, and Florida State were vouching for his signature. However, he chose to sign with Ohio State. Rogers redshirted his true freshman season in Columbus and subsequently entered the transfer portal. He wound up at NC State where he spent the next two seasons. During that time, he solidified himself as a premier pass-catcher in the Wolfpack’s offense. While the production isn’t there in terms of touchdowns, Rogers will likely be a viable option for Alabama at wide receiver. His speed, length, and playmaking ability should gel well in a pass-centric offense like Alabama’s. Given the departures of Isaiah Horton and Germie Bernard, Rogers will be called on to fill their void. At one point, Rogers was a top-100 recruit. He runs a sub-4.5 and is as explosive as most wide receivers in CFB. The lack of opportunities at NC State likely factored into Rogers’ decision to transfer and ultimately choose Alabama. He has the potential to be a difference maker in Ryan Grubb’s offense that was seemingly more pass-heavy in 2025. In the ideal world, Rogers will be WR2 or WR3 for the Crimson Tide in the fall. He will have more than enough opportunities to showcase his potential in spring and fall camp against one of the best secondaries in CFB in 2026 in my opinion. I’m not ready to say that Rogers will have a Jameson Williams or even Isaiah Horton-esque season in 2026. However, I can confidently say that he is fully capable of living up to the billing of his predecessors. Alabama will certainly need him to alleviate some of the pressure on teammates Ryan Williams and Lotzeir Brooks. Personally, I think that he will do so. Overall Grade: A-

Been watching a lot of footage of 2028 QB and now Alabama commit Charles Scott Jr. According to 247 in 2025 the 6’5, 255 lb sophomore threw for around 3,600 yards and 41 TDS on 178 completions. Only throwing 4 INTs!!! Scott Jr (son of his high school coach) has obvious massive upside given his size. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that already as a sophomore, he has an SEC build. The Good: - Kid is LARGE, much like Alabama’s recent five star commit Elijah Haven, Scott’s size allows him a full view of everything going on around him on the field. Mechanics benefit from his size - strong throwing platform. - Flashes plenty of natural strengths, including an explosive arm that doesn’t seem to have to work very hard to push the ball vertically. - Even as a developing HS quarterback, Scott Jr already shows a lot of finesse. Accuracy in highlight tape (provided below from Scottboyz on YouTube) is on the upswing, especially on layered and touch passes. - Although not technically a massive run threat, Scott Jr, given his size, can stress defenders on the ground, especially in short yardage situations. Areas for Refinement: - Shows promise with timing routes, but will get better as he matures over the next couple of season. - Mechanics are not fully polished as to be expected from a young QB, but raw traits still shine. Footwork under pressure! - Will grow into faster processing speeds as he continues his path. Will need this as he makes the talent jump to the SEC. All-in-all, this is a rising recruit in the 2028 class - one that will garner a ton of attention over the next several months, especially now that Alabama fully seated at the head of the table. Another potential eval masterclass from Kalen DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, and Bryan Ellis. The scheme fit for Scott Jr is perfect at Alabama. The size and arm talent are there, with touch on the way. Combined with intangibles such as high football IQ (coaches son) and a very strong relationship with Tide staff - this is a solid pickup for Alabama. The QB position remains in great hands moving forward in Tuscaloosa.

Five years ago today Alabama Men’s Basketball changed forever. What unfolded on the night of Jan. 19, 2021 in Baton Rouge, La., wasn’t just a road win or a hot-shooting performance. It became the moment the rest of the SEC realized the Crimson Tide had entered a new era, one that would permanently alter the program’s trajectory. Under Nate Oats, the modern identity of Alabama basketball announced itself inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Alabama demolished LSU, 105–75, setting a SEC record with 23 made three-pointers, a seismic shift that echoed far beyond the final buzzer. When a program ascends, fans can pinpoint the exact second when everything changed. For Alabama, the seminal moment had arrived. Bamalytics, Blue Collar basketball, layups, free throws and threes weaponized into a relentless, modern offensive system that the league wasn’t prepared to stop. “The 2021 team was really special,” Bryan Passink, the color analyst for Crimson Tide Sports Network, told Tide Hoops History. “Alabama fans knew we were good and everyone enjoyed our style of play, but that night in Baton Rouge, it all came together in a huge way. “We hoped it was a sign of things to come, and it absolutely was. Banners, championships, rings and long tournament runs were all to follow.” John Petty Jr. led the avalanche with 24 points, drilling 8-of-10 from deep. Jahvon Quinerly and freshman Joshua Primo each knocked down six threes and finished with 22 points, while Herbert Jones added 13. Alabama stormed out to a 60–32 halftime lead and at one point buried eight consecutive three-pointers in the first half. Which brings us to this question for our followers: Should Jan. 19 be celebrated as a Nate Oats holiday for the Alabama basketball nation? A day to remember the night the SEC record book burned, the blueprint revealed and Alabama basketball officially became something it had never been before.

𝐍𝐨. 𝟕 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝟕𝟖, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝟓𝟐 Date: Jan. 7, 2023 Impact/History: Largest margin of victory by the Crimson Tide over the Wildcats Where: Tuscaloosa (Coleman Coliseum) If victories over two different No. 1-ranked teams before SEC play even started had not been enough to grab the attention of college basketball, Alabama Men’s Basketball made another emphatic statement with a historical drubbing of the Kentucky Wildcats in front of a rabid sellout crowd in Coleman Coliseum. In his fourth season at the Capstone, Nate Oats led the Crimson Tide to its largest margin of victory against the Wildcats in a lopsided 78-52 dismantling that had Kentucky head coach John Calipari calling a timeout in the opening two minutes. “The crowd was unbelievable,” Oats said. “Students aren’t in school until Wednesday, the first day of class, so for them to show up and support us like they did was great. “We’re trying to put a program and product out there that everyone is proud to support, and they definitely supported us tonight, so I just want to thank everybody for that.” The 26-point walloping edged the previous best in program history which occurred in 1990 when Alabama throttled Kentucky 83-58. Alabama opened the game on a quick 6-0 run that had sophomore center Charles Bediako putting the reigning national player of the year, Oscar Tshiebwe, in the torture chamber. The fast start by the Crimson Tide infuriated Calipari so much he had to call a timeout just 2 minutes and eight seconds into the game. Brandon Miller led Alabama with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Mark Sears had 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. Jahvon Quinerly had 12 points and Bediako finished with nine points, six rebounds and two blocks. “I can’t say enough about our guys and how hard they played on defense and how locked in to the scouting report they were,” Oats said. “I thought Sears was unbelievable. I thought Charles was great on Tshiebwe.” Alabama led 35-24 at halftime and opened the second half on a 13-3 run to push the margin to 48-27. At one point the advantage reached 31 points. Tshiebwe struggled against the size of Bediako and finished with just four points and six rebounds.

“Guys were plumbers back then” FALSE. I present to you one of the GREATEST scorers ever who would average 35 today: Hall of Fame forward Rick Barry is the ONLY player EVER to lead the NCAA, NBA, and ABA in scoring. His name appears near the top of every all-time offensive list. He scored more than 25,000 points in his professional career and in four different seasons averaged more than 30 points. He was named to 12 All-Star teams, four All-NBA First Teams, and five All-ABA First Teams. Barry was a nearly unstoppable offensive juggernaut, a passionate competitor with an untempered desire to win. Occasionally his fiery competitiveness would grate on rivals — and teammates, too. Mike Dunleavy, a teammate and friend of the tempestuous Barry, told the Chicago Tribune, “You could send him to the U.N., and he’d start World War III.” “I was not an easy person to get along with,” Barry admitted in the same article. “I didn’t have a lot of tact.” However, he did have remarkable talent. He led an otherwise ordinary Golden State club to the NBA Championship in 1975, captaining the team and averaging 30.6 points, second in the league. In honor of the ABA documentary: Soul Power I will be highlighting some past ABA legends that changed the game. I will be highlighting ABA legends who changed the game- make sure to check out the new Amazon series called Soul Power. If the ABA never existed modern baskerball would look WAY different and not in a good way 🔴⚪️🔵
