Soyeon on the name change & new lightstick: It's like a sign of determination to move on to the next chapter. So with this new lightstick… of course we feel a little sad about it too. But since we changed from (G)I-DLE to i-dle, Neverland too, let's all go to the next chapter together. Instead of just saying "it's a shame" about what we did before, if we had stayed as (G)I-DLE, I think I would've thought, "I'd probably have to do something like 'LATATA' again. I'd probably have to do something like 'TOMBOY' again." But because we're i-dle now, it creates new things I can challenge myself with again. So I'm very satisfied with removing the "G" and becoming i-dle. Somehow, we've ended (G)I-DLE… and now that we're i-dle, I thought, "Let's do something new." So this lightstick too, I think it would be nice if you could see it that way. We're taking a new path, so Neverland, let's walk it together in a new way too. Like starting a new chapter with a new heart, let's go again. When you start with a new heart, you end up loving it more, and more new thoughts come. Let's go together like this. If in a few years, as i-dle, or as this Neverbong, we start feeling like it's too hard to know what we should do next, then let's go to the next chapter together. And if a few years later we feel that way again, then let's go to another new chapter together. Let's do that. Until the day we really do trot.

We thought about that a lot, and we wanted to show where we started, I think. 🐨: All seven of us are also, all Korean, too, and we thought it would be good if something symbolizing Korea could be included together, and while thinking that, we ended up, uh, bringing up the keyword, uh, “Arirang.” 🐨: “Arirang,” of course, is kind of… honestly, everyone interprets it differently, since the lyrics are abstract. I think it’s a story about this lingering feeling, longing, and love. That’s what I think. 🐨: I think that’s something I actually thought about a lot while I was in the military. You end up thinking a lot about the past, You miss everything. Something. 🐨: I miss civilian life, I miss ARMY, and I really miss the BTS members, and I miss the past. So, also now, since “Arirang” contains all the joys, angers, sorrows, and pleasures of life together, that kind of emotion felt like it could, in this album of ours. 🐨: As we’re putting out an album for the first time in a while, well, encompass our—what we’ve been through so far, the joys, angers, sorrows, and pleasures, and really tie together the music like that. 🐿️: But the thing that’s truly the most like us, that feels like our roots, and that we could show clearly in that way, I think that was “Arirang.” 🐰: Something that can tie it together— some kind of— 🐿️: Uh, I listened and I was like, oh, kind of like that. 🐨: We sang “Arirang” ten years ago, and at KCON Paris. 🐰: I saw that stage, on the channel. 🐿️: Wait a second, do you remember this? It's truly a new start. And I think why you felt that energy was because that, I think we actually are treating this moment as our new start. Like all those really turned up energy, like very resistant and “I want to show something into the world” type of energy. But I think we got more mature. It’s gonna be definitely the New Chapter of BTS!
