"I never thought in my life, with a panic fear of elevators, that I would work in a mine. But the war changed everything," says 36-year-old Victoriia Avramchuk at the mine's zero level. Two years ago, she was not allowed to work underground in the mine. Now, she operates an underground locomotive and delivers materials. Until 2022, the law prohibited women from working in heavy labor underground. However, during martial law, lawmakers lifted this ban.
