Fish vs. Fishes

Fishies! = when the person speaking is excited about the fishes, they may say ‘fishies!’

What do you call a Sardine, tuna, and Mackerel all together? A Seafood restaurant! LOL

So, are there many fish or fishes in the sea? Or would this depend on the diversity of your preferred dating pool?

In the Netherlands same with beer.

"And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes." Matthew 14:17. From the King James bible, 1611. It may be archaic, but fishes as a plural for fish of the same species is not incorrect.
