Around 8.30pm on Wednesday, a Delhi police officer was chased and beaten up by a crowd at Sansad Marg near the Park hotel in central Delhi. He was hit multiple times on the head by sticks. Moments later, Cockroach Janta Party volunteers were brought in by police to help calm down the crowd. At least five police officers were injured after they were dragged and assaulted by protesters, said Additional DCP (New Delhi) Anand Mishra.
