@NYUEmpathy @TheNormanLear Happy 101 to Mr. Lear. 🎂 And he is correct. That is part of what social emotional learning (SEL) is about. There are many people who don’t think it should be part of school curriculum. But it should for society’s sake.

@NYUEmpathy @TheNormanLear Empathy, an inherent genetic trait or acquired early on — to be able to feel what others are feeling and understand what they're experiencing. It's an attitude of unselfish concern for others, creating a supportive relationship and essentially — just spreading the love.💓

Reiner responded by citing one of his longtime influences and reflecting on how his work attempted to capture both the comedy and tragedy of the human experience, stories told with layers of meaning. Rob Reiner and his wife of 36 years, Michele, were found killed Sunday in their Los Angeles home.
