It’s obvious that the Ballys Casino was Lightfoot’s Golden Parachute after her horrendous job as mayor. Even that location is fraught with corruption (Aldermen Burnett). That neighborhood cannot handle the traffic that will come with a Casino. It’s a nightmare.
William Kelly is an animal, hungry to provide real journalism that tries to hold Chicago politicians, many of them corrupt, accountable. Most other journalists just phone it in and protect the establishment.

Casinos do nothing but prey and depend on the poor to spend their government monthly stipend to make a profit. They can't survive on wealthy or upper middle class people. It's why they usually build in depressed areas. I would even call downtown Chicago a depressed area.

You should do a deep dive into all the Illinois casinos. I can tell you as someone who has visited them for going on a decade or more they became rigged after Covid. None of them pay anymore. This is why I stopped going. I used to walk around the casinos and see winners. Not now.
