I was a producer on the Rob Lowe Roast. We gave her all the warnings that she among everyone else on the dais would be a joke target. She knew what she was signing up for and agreed to do it to help promote her new book. She wasn’t happy after but she was not bullied. We tried to help her with her own jokes by assigning Tony Hinchcliffe and other writers to come up with material. She refused to work with our writers and bombed when it was her time to be funny. A roast is brutal and it takes a lot of courage to be on one. She didn’t understand what she was in for but we certainly tried to help her do well.

I almost felt sorry for her.
