🎙️Arda Güler? Álvaro Arbeloa: “Well, he'll definitely be important like everyone else, but the truth is he's a very talented guy. He moves a lot, he can play in different positions. He can deliver the final pass, but he's also able to create play. I think he's young, but already has a lot of experience for his age. He put in a great effort in Albacete; he really pushed, ran a lot, and did a great job both with and without the ball. And well, surely he'll be very important and get plenty of minutes. I have no doubt he's a special, different kind of talent and, like all the players, he's destined to have some great nights here.”

We need 4/5 players, we need 2 wingers asap, we need a 10 and we need another DM 1. Vilakazi looked very sharp, everytime he had the ball in the first half felt like something is about to happen. 2. Cross was very sharp as well, like all his forward passes, must go back to left back though. 3. Maboe is him 4. Number 22 is not match fit but the signs are there, off the ball hispositioning is really good. He always wants the ball! The others I could not rate, Frosler aii😭😭😭

Draymond taking on a new role next season? 🤔 Steve Kerr: "We have to cut back on the turnovers. I want him shooting the 3 when he's open. When he shoots a 3, he may not be a super high percentage shooter, but possessions are good for us when he shoots because number 1, it's worth 3. Number 2, we get offensive rebounds. Number 3, there's a flow to the game that has to happen that if someone is open and they shoot it, the game keeps moving . . . "

Take a look at this play. We had 2 players attacking the box, but Vini chose to try and dribble past 2-3 Getafe players instead of releasing the ball. Ofcos he lost possesion and then starts shouting at fans for booing him instead of tracking back😭

Gonzaga's Mario Saint-Supery showed why he's got a chance to have a big sophomore leap vs Denmark today The 6-4 Spanish guard went for 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals on 6-10 FG and 3-6 from deep in just 17 minutes of action MSS had a nice freshman season at Gonzaga, and with more on-ball responsibilities a big jump could project him favorably for NBA Teams next season He became a bit more of a off-ball player last season as the year progressed but again has so much on-ball juice as a playmaker and has grown as a shooter, but must find his at the rim footing again.

Asked Jordi Fernandez whether Egor Demin's dip in production is related to him playing more off the ball alongside Nolan Traore: "When Egor didn't play with Nolan, he played with Terrence, who brought the ball up a lot, and Egor was playing off the ball. With Nolan now, the way he's impacted the game and played pick and roll and his pace, has that affected Egor? Maybe... But Egor's a great shooter. He can play off the ball. He can play second side and get the ball. He had nine assists the other day. So it's about always finding a way. And obviously, he has to do it, and I have to help him get there. But I'm very happy with where both of them are, and both sharing the floor is a positive."

#Illini head coach on new DC Roger Cooper. He's a former DC at Montana who knows the 3-3-5 scheme. Bret told Roger, "I told Coop he would be play caller. Let's get through two weeks (until bye week) and see where we are at, and see where we are going. Definitely today, it wasn't perfect, but it was a step in the right direction." Bielema said part of the defensive part game plan was try to keep the ball in front of them and not allowi bg plays. Illinois falls to Purdue, and drops to 2-3.

.Rob Dauster's message for Kentucky fans: "Buy into it. Maybe it'll take 2-3 years. But Mark Pope is the antithesis of a lot of the things that you grew tired of under Calipari. He's outperformed expectations and resources. He's one of your own. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But I think he's gonna have Kentucky in and around the top of the SEC, and I think you need to give him a legit chance" WATCH:

ESPN's Tom Crean, OG Anunoby's college coach, on Jalen Brunson & Knicks offense: "In all honesty you can bring back Red Holzman, OK? If they don't throw the ball ahead & play more in transition…they gotta get away from 1 action 1 shot, I mean the ball has got to move. And that's Mike Brown's forte. But the end of the day as good as Jalen is, in my opinion he's a much better player when he's not only pushing the ball but where the ball's moving––because there's so many times where he's handling that everything's built to stop him because, it's not necessarily gonna be passed… "Jalen Brunson's so good that you really should never measure him based on his points, you measure him based on his efficiency, the ball moving ahead, getting offense. No matter what they've got to get better moving that ball from side to side, utilizing their players––they've got great wing runners, OG can get up the floor, Bridges, Hart, McBride––well those guys can also make plays in the halfcourt. And I think for them to take the next step Jalen's has almost got to get more off the ball catches, rather than drive it into the paint & everything starts & finishes with him"

ADAPTIVE PRESS SHAPE -Fenerbahçe prevented Lyon from controlling the game for large periods of the match. To do this, -They changed their formation in the opposition half from 4-2-3-1 into 4-3-1-2. -The midfield three was formed with the wingers, Greenwood and Aydın, moving inside. As a result, Lyon’s full-backs initially looked free, but whenever the goalkeeper played into them, Greenwood and Aydın could quickly jump out to press. -Guendouzi covered a large amount of ground vertically, while Kante covered distance horizontally. -Guendouzi’s quick recovery runs from higher positions allowed him to win the ball back for his team in unexpected moments.

SHOOTERS DON’T NEED TO SHOOT EVERY PASS!! Players that can really shoot the ball have such an offensive advantage bc they force the defense to close out hard on to them. Many times, bc they are such good shooters, they feel like they need to shoot a high volume of 3’s…. Helping them realize they can turn some of the semi contested 3’s in to paint touches to create easy 2’s for themselves or open shots for teammates can make them more effective, and open up MORE THREES for them.

After the signing of FDJ, Barca never spent on midfielders. Pedri was a smart signing made through scouting. But Barca never signed an established midfielder except Frank Kissie who came for free. VICTOR MOW FROHOLDT👾🪄 I know his signing will be very expensive looking at the prices of Tonali & Mateus. But Victor is a generational machine in the midfield. A proper B2B profile, standing at 1.88m tall is highly effective at recycling possession under pressure and finding open pockets in the half-spaces. He's very direct robust & crucial with his runs demonstrated sharp penalty-box instincts with late & untracked runs into the area. Defensively, He's very good at shield the ball cleanly, a high pressing midfielder & high workrate Athlete similar to Gordon. He's got great spatial awareness and defensive positioning. A very go-to midfielder which Flick will love having. At Bayern he had Kimmich & Thiago as orchestrators which is Pedri at Barca but he had Leon Goretzka who was the lungs in the midfield. Hansi Flick loves an interior CM who makes late, untracked diagonal runs into the penalty area (similar to Leon Goretzka’s role under Flick at Bayern Munich). Victor Froholdt has a 85m Release Clause in his contract which can be brought down as Porto are interested in Rooney, thus a deal around 50m could be possible. Andréas Christensen u have a job & that's to bring your Danish teammate home. Barcelona must make the next big signing in the midfield & bringing Victor Froholdt will shake things up surely. Imagine a midfield of Pedri - Bernal/Gavi - Froholdt that's epic orchestratory destruction & heaven like Workrate. Bring the next Danish Superstar to SUNNY BLAUGRANA. 💙❤️

This is facts and I'd even give two clear examples a lot of Arsenal fans may remember. Last season when we played Brentford at home, Saka was on an attack for us and he did not have a clear chance to shoot the ball, Gyokeres was down in the middle and squaring that pass would have resulted in an easier goal for us but Ska chose to shoot, luckily the ball went in but Kelleher had a bad punch on the ball which is why the ball even went in. Chelsea vs Arsenal Carabao cup semi final, Saka was on an attack again, he could have played the cross first time in for Gyokeres but he decided to cut back before now passing to Ben White who eventually squared it to Gyokeres, luckily for Gyokeres, Robert Sanchez let the ball slip underneath him which resulted in Gyokeres tapping the ball in. If you see Gyokeres's reaction in the buildup to the goal, he got frustrated Saka did not release the ball to him on time. There are many more occassions similar to this from Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard and co where they could have released Gyokeres quickly but chose not to. So yeah, this tweet I quoted is absolutely spot on.

Rangers: Back-3 Build Issue The 3rd Goal summed everything I dislike about trying to build in this Back-3: > Removing a Player from the Middle > 4 Players Now Infront of Celtic's Full Team > Seperating CB's from Key Areas But more than that, Rangers don't appear to have a "Pattern" or "Rotation" to actually build, it's almost always: > Play to CB on Outside > Ask CB to Drive & Play Through Lines > Or Build Direct but with Less Numbers for 2nd Balls Celtic Took Full Advantage: > McGregor Recognises the Overload > Nygren Understands Djiga "Out of Picture" > Overload on Diomande & Turnover the Ball Distances With & Against the Ball for Rangers is a real concern and that's the 3rd Team in a Row that's provided a blue print to play against.

There are so many options in the attack with the 2-6-2. It is like playing with Overload without using the Overload tactic while simultaneously having a better defensive shape. So many times the opponent was forced to commit to one of my attackers which left the other completely free. Also pay attention to Anderson’s movement. He is dropping back with the 2 CBs to form a back 3 even when in possession in the ball. The only time he really joins the midfield is if I am in the final third trying to break down the opponent. I’ve tested this with Pedri in Anderson’s position to see if I am able to consistently form a 3 man midfield when in possession to cause an extreme overload but it looks like it is something coded into the game to create more stability when you lose the ball. hmm…

What does Rory McIlroy like about Ludvig Aberg’s game? “Pretty much everything. His pace of play. Once he gets over the ball he's really decisive. He's obviously got a beautiful swing. Looks like he plays with a lot of freedom. “Watching a little bit of the golf yesterday afternoon, he's always smiling out there. He looks like he finds a lot of joy in playing the game, and it looks like him and Joe, his caddie, always have good conversations and a good laugh out there, and that's important, as well.” And what did Rory learn about him during the Ryder Cup: “He's pretty unflappable. He's so laid-back, like, ridiculously laid-back, which is a really good thing, especially in environments like the Ryder Cup.” Ludvig takes a 3 shot lead into the final round of The Players Championship looking to win the biggest event of his career so far. First look at the new Overload play style. This was against the Legend AI Inter Milan team that was using Out Wide in a 3-1-4-2 setup. It definitely feels like a more upgraded version of Possession Game and you do get a lot of options showing for the ball making it way easier to deal with opponents who like to Pressure spam. Out Wide will definitely be a HARD COUNTER to Overload so be careful if you are using Overload and you run into someone like Xabi Alonso who has Quick Counter and Out Wide because if you lose the ball you will be at a big disadvantage when the inevitable cross field switch comes. We will have to see how it settles after a few weeks but it is best to play in a formation with LMFs or RMFs so you can switch the play against Overload if you do win the ball back so you don’t get instantly suffocated and lose the ball.
