The Dark Knight Rises is Christopher Nolan’s most flawed film but those flaws are largely masked by an outstanding opening sequence & a really well-done conclusion. This isn’t just a great conclusion to one film, it’s a great conclusion to an entire trilogy. P.S….only 97 days.

Jon Favreau’s Chef is a really well-done original film that doesn’t get talked about enough. I consider this a rewatchable comfort film that’s both funny & sad. The cast is also excellent- Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman & RDJ just to name a few. Favreau’s talent is endless.

This is my favorite sequence from the entire Ocean’s trilogy. Ocean’s 11 is a film that’s aged exceptionally well, in part because of its distinct style. But this sequence is vintage Soderbergh & the perfect opportunity for Elliott Gould- a living legend- to chew up scenery.

X2 is a beautiful comic book film & in a lot of ways, was a little ahead of its time. This opening sequence with Nightcrawler is really difficult to forget. Alan Cumming was perfect to play Nightcrawler. Hell, this entire cast is perfect. This film also still looks great visually

Video shows an Air India passenger plane with more than 240 people on board taking off from Ahmedabad Airport just seconds before it crashed into buildings in western India. A huge fireball is seen billowing above the buildings following the deadly crash. The plane's radar signal disappeared less than a minute after takeoff, according to live flight tracking website Flight Radar, which indicated it reached an altitude of about 625 feet before the crash. Police initially said there were no known survivors, but a senior Indian police official told the country's national news agency ANI that one person survived the crash.

Back to the Future is one of those films that changed my expectations of Cinema as a kid. Director Robert Zemeckis pulls off half a dozen filmmaking tricks that, at the time, I didn’t know were possible. I still think the special & practical effects in this film hold up well.
