Be defined by your pursuit. Second, after you’ve identified the outcome you want, is then to ask, ‘Ok, what circumstances do I have?’ Because you need to work from where you are and see it with clear eyes. Clarifying the event you’re dealing with is ‘realism’. Clarifying the outcome you want is ‘optimism’. And finally, given the outcome you want and the event you have, what response do you need in order to create that outcome given the circumstances that you’re in? It’s the nature of life.”

This is the concept of progressive overload and this is what you need to make progress in the gym. you don’t need two hours of workouts that completely drains you in order to make progress and be healthy. in fact, some of my best workouts arrive when I’m on a time crunch and the quality and intensity and effort of the exercise exercises have to be on point.

The respect of capital. If you want to be wealthy, you have to respect money. You have to understand where it fits in your life. And you have to understand that the way to get rich is not to spend it, to save it and let it grow. This is the key to success. I've been saying it for decades. You save twenty percent of your income in perpetuity, put it into the market, and you leave it alone. You start doing it in your late twenties, even if you just got the average salary, by the time you're sixty-five, you have one and a half to two million bucks. Stock market does that. You do it. But the reason most people can't is they don't have the discipline to save. They buy too much stuff they don't need.
