#BREAKING Polk City man arrested for traveling to have sex with a 16-year-old girl On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, PCSO deputies apprehended 28-year-old Jordan Becker of Polk City, after he travelled to Pennsylvania to pick up a 16-year-old girl whom he met and groomed online then brought back to his home in Polk County. According to the affidavit, Becker met the victim through online video gaming with her brother. Becker stated that he was in a relationship with the victim, calling her his girlfriend. He could not recall the exact date he drove to Pennsylvania to pick her up, but that it was sometime in June. On July 21, 2026, the victim’s brother reported her missing and gave the tip that he believed she was with Becker in Polk City. On the same day the call was received, PCSO deputies made contact with Becker and the victim at his residence. Becker admitted to knowing she was underage but stated that he loved her, and that is why he did it. He also admitted to having sexual intercourse with her at least three times. The victim stated she did not tell her mother where she was going for fear of her being upset. Her family believed she was still in Pennsylvania staying at a friend’s house. Becker was arrested and charged with 3 counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor (F2), travelling to meet a minor (F2), contributing to the delinquency of a child (M1), unlawful use of a two-way communication device (F3), and interference with custody from a parent (F3). “He drove all the way to Pennsylvania and brought her back to Polk County. This is an extremely frightening situation that easily could have ended much worse. It is a stark reminder of why parents must closely monitor their children’s online activity. The victim’s brother did exactly the right thing by calling us.” — Grady Judd, Sheriff

#BREAKING High school teacher and tennis coach arrested for sexual relationship with student Detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Winter Haven High School teacher on Thursday, July 23, 2026, after an investigation revealed that he had sexually battered a 15-year-old student numerous times whom he met at Winter Haven High in his capacity as a teacher. Cutshaw is also the boy’s tennis coach there. 55-year old Otis Cutshaw of Winter Haven was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged with: 5 counts of sexual battery by custodial figure (FL), 5 counts of travelling to meet a minor (F2), 5 counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication device (F3), 7 counts of transmission of harmful material to a minor (F3), 8 counts of possession of obscene material depicting a minor (M2), use of a device to solicit sexual conduct with a minor (F3), child pornography (F3), offenses against students by authority figures (F2), lewd molestation (F2), and tampering with physical evidence (FL). The PCSO investigation began on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 after it was discovered that the victim was in an inappropriate relationship with the 55-year-old suspect. Detectives made contact with the victim who admitted that she had been in a sexual relationship with Cutshaw since school ended in May 2026 and that they communicated through messaging apps like GroupMe. According to the victim, the encounters occurred frequently at the beginning of summer and then daily during this past week. When detectives retrieved her phone, their messages appeared to have been deleted, but they were able to find substantial message history through forensic analysis. Detectives found numerous pictures, videos, and messages all predominately sexual in nature including photographs and videos of Cutshaw with his penis exposed or while masturbating that he had sent to the victim. During a phone call between the victim and Cutshaw, he told her that he deleted their chat history and that he needed to know what she had told law enforcement so that they could “match their stories.” While speaking to detectives, Cutshaw admitted to traveling to the victim’s residence and engaging in oral sex and penile-vaginal intercourse without a condom on approximately five occasions while her parents were away. He also admitted to exchanging nude photos and videos, providing the victim with gifts, and deleting their chat history because he knew law enforcement was coming to his house. Cutshaw also stated that despite the circumstances, he remains optimistic that he will eventually be able to marry the 15-year-old victim. Cutshaw is married and has two kids of his own. “We are disgusted to hear that someone entrusted with educating and protecting children has been arrested for such unacceptable behavior,” said Fred Heid, superintendent of Polk County Public Schools. “We are terminating his employment, and he will have no further involvement with our students. The school district will continue to cooperate fully with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office investigation, and we appreciate deputies moving so quickly to address this situation.”

$835,000 Larry Bushart, a former police officer from Tennessee, was awarded $835,000 after being jailed for 37 days over a social media meme. In Sept 2025, following Kirk’s assassination, Bushart posted a meme on Facebook quoting Trump’s response to a school shooting at Perry High School in Iowa: "We have to get over it." On Sept 22, he was arrested and charged with making "threats of mass violence on school property" Sheriff Nick Weems, who directed the arrest, claimed Bushart posted the meme "to indicate or make the audience think it was referencing our Perry High School" in Tennessee even though he and his investigators knew from the start that the meme referred to the 2024 Perry High School shooting in Iowa, not the local school. He also said it caused "mass hysteria" as parents, teachers and students believed it referred to a "hypothetical shooting" at the local school but he did not present evidence to support those claims. Bushart’s bond was set at a staggering $2 million and he spent 37 days in jail. In Oct 2025, Perry County released him from jail following nationwide outrage and media scrutiny. He lost his post-retirement job and missed both his wedding anniversary and the birth of his grandchild. He later teamed up with FIRE and sued the sheriff, the investigator, and the county for violating his First, Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights. On May 14, 2026, the parties settled the case for $835,000. "I am pleased my First Amendment rights have been vindicated," said Larry Bushart.

Long term substitute teacher gets caught grooming one of her students. An administrators at Horizon Academy at Marion Oaks contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office after students reported seeing a 14-year-old male student with his head resting in the lap of 24-year-old long-term substitute teacher Dianely Torres while she stroked his hair during class. When questioned by investigators and administrators, the teen initially deflected, denying anything was amiss. However, corroborated witness reports and a forensic examination of digital devices revealed a deeply coordinated, secret relationship conducted via Discord. The digital trail showed Torres systematically grooming the student outside the classroom. According to investigative reports, Torres routinely picked up the minor in her mother’s red SUV early in the morning, driving him to secluded areas and local trailheads where physical encounters took place. During police interrogation, Torres attempted to downplay the interaction as playful banter before eventually admitting to multiple sexual acts, though she insisted full intercourse had not occurred. A subsequent specialized forensic interview with the victim at Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection painted a far more severe picture, with the minor disclosing repeated instances of sexual battery. Torres was arrested and booked into Marion County Jail on 14 felony counts, including 9 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and 5 counts of transmission of material harmful to minors. Following further disclosures from the forensic interview, prosecutors tacked on 2 counts of sexual battery and 1 count of lewd and lascivious molestation. Torres entered a written plea of not guilty. Given the severity of the charges and the risk to the public, she remains remanded at the Marion County Jail with no bond as the criminal docket proceeds toward trial. This case is still ongoing through the judicial system. We will circle back on it once we have updates.

Husband calls cops on his wife who is a first grade teacher. He caught her doing the unthinkable with a student from her school. In Whitman County, Washington, 25-year-old first-grade teacher Mackenzie Naught found herself facing deputies after her husband, Garrett caught her illicit messages that she was sending to a 16 year old student at her school. Garrett called the boy directly, confirmed the encounter, and immediately brought in law enforcement. Digital evidence, including Life360 location data, confirmed the 16-year-old picked her up in his pickup truck in the early morning hours of May 3, driving up to Harwood Hill where the encounter took place. During questioning, Mackenzie initially denied the relationship instead blamed marital strain and alcohol as the reason her husband was telling lies about her. Deputies were not done yet as they then questioned her long time friend Tami who was present at the house. Tami informed the deputies that McKenzie did confess to Tami about the relationship with the 16 year old. Soon after McKenzie was placed into custody and one in the interrogation room she broke down and confessing to the entire encounter—even admitting she begged the teen to take the secret to his grave. Mackenzie was charged with first-degree Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Naught posted a $10,000 bond to be released. She formally pleaded guilty on July 10, 2026 receiving a 6-month county jail sentence, 12 months of community supervision, a mandatory psychosexual evaluation, and 10 years on the sex offender registry. How do you feel about the sentence, justice served or got off easy? Keep in mind that while she was not his teacher directly, she was a teacher in his school. This does mean that she was in a position of power at the school.
