Every damn summer, my Chicago relatives come to Florida, in July, to Disney and wonder why no one wants to join them. Uhh, no, Floridians go to theme parks in February, not July.

*If you all of a sudden stop sweating and get cold out of no where, you are already too far gone. Stop the physical activity and immediately hydrate, you are knocking on heatstrokes door. *If you get bear caught, it’s going to feel like a Charley horse all over your body, you are past just hydrating. You need to consume a tsp of real salt and then down a Powerade/gatorade/or beer. My parents always did beer with salt around the rim, I just add more salt to the Gatorade to help the muscles absorb better. This heat ain’t to play with, especially between 11am-4pm.

I always tell FL visitors don’t come to FL in the summer come between Nov. and Feb. Especially if you are going to the theme parks.

Went for 9 months without AC in the house once. My wife made me install ceiling fans during that time. The nerve of her!

This Floridian says the problem with heat is mostly between your ears. The shade is definitely your friend. Get things done in the mornings or last two hours of daylight for mowing and .....

We don’t say “like” every other word - keeps things much cooler

People are always amazed that I drive in Florida with my windows down. But the secret is... I, most of the time but not always, have my AC still on as well. I don't always use my AC though. But then again, I'm a native to Fl.
