Applebaum: A Russian victory in Ukraine would endanger not only countries on Russia’s borders, but all of Europe. Putin has said that anywhere a Russian soldier has ever been could be Russian again. That is not only Warsaw or Riga. That also means Berlin. 1/

I'm glad that this comic has been turned into an animated series, and the part where the belly inflation has also been depicted.

Flow has now made more than 20 million $ at the global box office! Not bad for a film that cost 3.5 million eur. And we're still yet to open in many big countries. This shows that there is an appetite for more independant animation and we'll be seeing much bigger variety of films being made.

From the beginning, Flow has been a tool built by artists, for artists. In that spirit, we have some news: 1) Welcome Henry Daubrez 🌸💀 as our first filmmaker in residence who will work directly with our team to shape the future of Flow. 2) We're launching Flow Sessions, a pilot program that will provide mentorship and education for filmmakers on how they can best use Flow to bring their stories to life. Several Ukrainian long-range drones crashed in Latvia. One of them destroyed an oil reservoir near the town of Rezekne. The Russian Ministry of Defence has confirmed that 5 of 6 Ukrainian drones disappeared off the radar while in Latvian air space. One was shot down in Pskov oblast. This is the first time ever the Russian government has publicly acknowledged a fact that has been known for years - that the Baltic nations let the Ukrainian military use their air space for attacks on Russia.

"This film won in Venice only because it was made by Israelis, if it was made by Palestinians, it wouldn't even be in the programme" This is true and this sucks. It's an indictment against the festivals, against the mainstream media, against the powers that be. But this is not a criticism towards the film's creators. If they hadn't submitted the film to the competition, the award wouldn't have been given to a Palestinian film. The genocide just wouldn't have been mentioned in the programme at all.
