Ngizwe Mchunu alleges that Floyd Shivambu informed him that Julius Malema and his associates are involved in the looting of funds within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. He claims that Shivambu stated that more than R10 million is being fraudulently claimed every month within the municipality’s security department. Mchunu further emphasised that Malema is no longer welcome in KwaZulu-Natal, alleging that he has insulted General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. He added that this is not the first time Malema has made derogatory remarks about leaders from the province, claiming that he has previously insulted both Jacob Zuma and the late Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

He says that after Floyd Shivambu and Julius Malema were expelled from the ANC, he called Shivambu and told him to convince Malema to start a political party. According to Kunene, Malema initially refused, saying he wanted to focus on his farm in Limpopo. Kunene claims he even drove there to persuade him personally, but Malema still declined until his farm was taken away from him, after which he agreed, saying, “Let’s do it.”
